Remove wheels. Remove fender liners front. Remove three nuts per side from inside fender wells. Remove fog lamp grilles. Remove vertical bolt just inside grilles--pointing up. Remove two screws per side under hood near front of fender. Put milk crate under front bumper. Remove belly pan first. Slide bumper forward onto milk crate, disconnect headlight washer line at quick disconnect if so equipped. Disconnect fog light connectors. Remove bumper.
Hello Bruce...here are the steps to follow per All Data.
Release hood latch and open hood. Remove the headlamp assemblies. Hoist vehicle and support with safety stands. Remove the five push pin fasteners attaching bottom of fascia/air dam to radiator closure panel. Remove front wheels. Remove front wheelhouse splash shields fasteners as necessary to gain access to bolts attaching front fascia to fender. Remove the two bolts and two nuts attaching fascia to the front fenders (Fig. 1) and (Fig. 2). Disconnect fog lamp wire connectors, if necessary. Lower vehicle. Remove two bolts attaching the upper grille support to the headlamp mounting panel at each side of the grille. Remove bumper fascia from vehicle. INSTALLATION
Position front bumper fascia on vehicle (Fig. 1) and (Fig. 2). Install the two bolts attaching fascia to headlamp mounting panel at each side of grille. Hoist vehicle and support with safety stands. Install the two bolts and two nuts attaching fascia to the front fenders. The fascia should be flush to fender. Install front wheelhouse splash shields fasteners. Install front wheels. Connect fog lamp wire connectors, if necessary. Install the five push pin fasteners attaching bottom of fascia to radiator closure panel. Lower the vehicle. Install the headlamp assemblies.
The "push pin fasteners" are the pain you are having i believe. They push in, but to get them out you need squeeze them on the back & pull at the same time. If you happen to break a few, you can buy them in various sizes at the auto parts store. I hope this information is helpful, an owners manual will not have any info like this in it.
First of all; sorry that you were in a wreck. I know that sucks. Been there, done that. As far as getting the hood to come open; have you checked the hood latches that keep the hood nearly firmly in place? Sometimes loosening these latches can help get a hood to pop open. As far as the front bumper goes; there are also brackets that hold the bumpers to your vehicle. If you can find a way to locate and loosen these brackets; then it should come off. As far as the radiator replacement goes; that's another ball game and beyond my limited knowledge about vehicles. Hope this helps.
There is two ways to change the timing belt.First-only can be done by professional VW mechanic without opening the front of the car.Second-need to remove front bumper, head lights plate, cooling system radiator/not an A/C radiator/ to get access to the timing belt.Hard job If you do not have an experiance.
the sensor is located in front of radiator if you open hood and look down behind front bumper you should see it, or look from under the frt bumper, it easy to change, also get part from dealer it not $$,hope this helps.
there are 4 bolts on the hood 2 each side/ take the top sheild off its retainers then remove front bumper reatianers and bolts on bottom and a bolt oneach side at fenders slide bumper off then you can get to lights and radiator you will have to unbolt the radiator brackets at the top should be able to replace them all
