There is a part under the hood called an 'air cleaner' based on the manual. underneath this, there is an air filter. what is the name of the part that connects this to the other end of the car. my car recently overheated to the point of stalling because of a broken thermostat that wasnt registering anymore. this has destroyed the parts I am inquiring about. the mechanic told me to go to the junkyard to find this 'hose' ... anyone know what this is called? thanks much

A 2001 Dodge Stratus SE has a 4 cylinder 2.4 liter engine it should be under air cleaner box bolted into engine on top of front side of transmission with red battery cable attached to it. Hope this helps
first turn off radio, then raise hood to disconnect negative battery cable from shock tower, remove air cleaner resonator, remove electrical connectors from the starter, then remove starter to transaxle bolts, remove starter, if you have the 2.5L engine you need to remove oil filter it will be in your way.
I think you mean the idle air control motor which is located under the air cleaner assembly on the throttle body. You may need a repair manual, cause if you want to replace it you have to remove the throttle body.
the secondary air pump is one part, it is actually called the "secondary air injection system", so the dealer misinformed u, it is a major component of the emission control system, it is under the hood and injects air into the exhaust system to help clean the exhaust
id suggest replacing the air filter the filter is located in the cannister its black usually square has a plastic accordian hose that goes to it and its usually on the passenger side of the car under the hood.also it can be located on the passenger side.
