BATTERY LIGHT OR NOTHING COMES ON WHEN TRYING TO TURN THE KEY
It addition to the other reply, you can try to see if the terminals are tight, and also even if they are tight sometimes they start to get a small corrosion build up and prevent contact even if they appear tight. give each side terminal a little twist back and forth a little if they are loose enough, then tighten them, if it starts ok, they take them both off and clean them.
Have you tried to jump start it?
SOURCE: can't remove key from ignition. battery is dead
If the battery is dead, the ignition keys will not release from the ignition. If there is no signal from the transmission shifter that it's in park since the battery is dead, then the ignition lock will not release the keys. After charging the battery or jumping the blazer to start it and the key's still will not release, try this.
There is a "plunger" as part if the ignition. Under the steering wheel there is a small removable cap that you can take off and put a small screw driver up into and press the plunger in and it will release the key. Good luck and hope this helps, Keep me posted be glad to help.

Simple, free and doesn't hurt anything; Use ONLY your car's ignition key in the ignition - in other words, have NO other keys attached to the ignition key while in use.I had this same problem, increasingly worse (as I added keys to my car key ring). Finally, I seperated my ignition key from my other keys, and so far, no anti Theft problems!
