When I turn on the air conditioner it does not click. However, hot air still comes out of the vents instead of cold. Could this be a fuse? Also, someone mentioned an ROD fuse....where is that located and how do you tell if its bad or not?

I don't know the pressure of the freon.

    Thanks

This could be the problem "it's full of freon cause it wouldn't take anymore"
A/Cs are not filled until they can't any more.

Here is what you should have in it.
The refrigerant used should be R-134a
The total amount should be 32oz
The type of oil in the A/C should be Pag-150
The amount of Pag-150 should be 8oz

More than 32oz of R134a is overcharged.

You should also check to make sure the compressor is engaging.
If not,It could be Overcharge,bad compressor,Bad pressure switch,or a few other things.

I hope this has given you ample info.

Please take time to rate this fixya.

Hot air coming out just means the blower fan is working,You have to check the refrigerant level.

To little and it will not come on.

Improper refrigerant level is the #1 cause of A/C not working.

Was the a/c system evacuated before the freon was added,if not that is why it will not take anymore, there is air in the system and not pure freon. if you added freon there is a leak and this would show up when you evacuated the system, air has leaked into the system, it needs to be filled with freon only no air

Air condition blowing hot air. Type of car: 2003 nissan pathfinder 4x4. Should I replace/add coolant?

Lack of Coolant wouldn't cause your AC to blow hot air.

You may have a vaccum leak in your dash board that is causing your heater to remain stuck.

If not this, then you will have to have your AC recharged. You can purchase a recharging kit from your local auto parts store! Fortunately, your vehicle can use the newer type of AC Recharging kits so you have many options!

Good luck and I hope this helped!

My heat will not blow warm air out of the vent.

RUN ENGINE UNTIL HOT, THEN FEEL THE HEATER HOSES IF ONLY ONE HOSE IS HOT THEN SESPECT A PLUGGED HEATER CORE. I HAVE SEEN THIS ON SEVERAL BLAZERS. ALSO MAKE SURE YOU ARE FULL OF COOLANT.

I have a 1998 Olds Aurora thats been a great car until about 2 weeks ago and then ... problem 1. lights flash off and on when car is off, clicking, buzzing noise coming from steering colum,...

problem 1 could be a loose wire, but if it is failure in the switch it will need to be replaced cleaning is probably not an option. Problem 2 bad gas can cause the stopping at idle speeds add some stp fuel treatment, read label to make sure it dries up water in gas. Fill up after you add the treatment and you will probably be good. problem 3 is tricky. Try turning off the a/c then turn it back on you should hear a little click like sound which should indicate if it is in fact turning on the a/c. If it sounds like it did turn on then turn off a/c and switch to heater or vent mode you should hear what sounds like little doors being closed. If you don't hear a change or heater doesn't blow hot air or your outside air vent doesn't blow cooler/outside temp. air then you may a have a leaking vaccum line or the vaccum unit is not working right.

The blower on my 98 windstar blows hot air when in a/c mode and never gets cold. Tried charging it but It was already full.

the most common cause would be a slow leak in the system, and Freon might have been lost, causing warm air to blow Simply recharging an A/C system never fixes anything,so it needs to be checked for leaks

One cause is that when filling the AC with freon, what happens is that people are not told to let the air out of the system and the can at the same time. So you fill your system to what you think it is full and it is really just full of air. The other is the relay is not opening fully. The other issue is the heater core is dirty and needs to be cleaned out with a jet of water

Heat constantly blowing

I know this problem all to well as i am a Ford dealer tech, the problem is caused by either a defectice air temp control blend door actuator motor or a stuck air temp control blend door or in rare cases both, your system's door is stuck n the heater position, which is where they almost always fail.

Hot air blowing in car

sounds like your blend door motor has gone bad. this motor controls the blend door in the heater box that allows eather cold or hot air to flow or a mixture of both. replacing this motor is a big job cause the dash must be moved out to get to the motor.
