You can go to Alldata online. The web site has the information you are looking for.
The back side of the drum for the rear brakes there is a little whole covered by a rubber cap.
I would remove the rubber cap. The inside of the brake drum there is a gear called a star gear. You need to take a flat tip screw driver and move the star gear so the tension is taken off the pads. Then you have to pry off the drum. IF this seems to difficult you should take the vehicle to a local mechanic for brake service.

What kind of rear brakes on my 2002 Caravan

Without looking I'm going to take a guess and say drum brakes but to be positive if you don't know what your looking for call the Dodge dealer and give them the vin number and they will tell You right away if you know what to look for just lay down and look behind the rear tire and if you see a caliper you have disc brakes if not you have drum brakes good luck

Put in a new master cylinder and the brake booster and bleed the brakes..... brake still not catching... goes almost to the floor.... What next? (2006 dodge grand caravan)

have you replaced the front and rear brake pads (for older vehicles, rear wheels use brake shoes instead of brake pads). if yes, check your calipers. completely remove it from your tire and have it cleaned.
if the problem still persists, then its time to replace your hydrovac

Rear passanger tire locked

You probably have a brake slave cylinder that the pistons have popped out of. You will have to remove the tire and brake drum to take a look. If the components inside the brake drum are loose or out of place, lift the rear end of the car up on jack stands and use the brake panel assembly on the opposite side of the car as a reference on how to rebuild and replace the damaged components on the locked side of the Caravan. You will need a slave cylinder and new brake pads because the old shoes will be fluid fouled.

How do i remove back brake drums on1998 dodge grd caravan to look at the brake pads? seems bolts holding drum cover on.

I don't believe there are bolts on that. If there are you can see them when you take the wheel off. If no bolts here is what you need to do.

1. Take off tire

2. Back off brake shoes.

3. Get a hammer and beat on it,be careful if you want to reuse them they can break if hit to hard. An air hammer works the best, right on the hub between the studs. I know it sound simple but sometimes they really get stuck on.
Hope that helps.

How do I get the rear brake drums off 2000 dodge grand caravan

you can tap on the drum with a hammer they should come right off but don't beat on them as they will break if you hit to hard and if the brake shoes are to tight they need to be adjusted looser before you try to remove the drums

Sure sounds like you need new brake pads. On the brake pad is a small metal tab that contacts the rotor and squeals when the pads need to be changed. Hope this helps. Please keep me posted. Good luck
