there is no problem with the tranny, It has a lot of miles and I want to change the fluid. So since it is so old and it has probably never been changed what is the best fluid to use and so I need to put any additive in it to keep it healthy? There are NO noticable problems with is at this time....

It sounds as if you're having tranny problems. Addatives will not cure your issue.

I would use what the factory recommends you can find the fluid type stamped on your transmisson fill stick as far as additives i would recommend lucas transmission additive but be warned that if fluid is real dirty or has not been changed in a long time that with alot of miles changing trans fluid in high mile vehicles can start transmission to start slipping.

I have a 1992 Honda Accord Ex I shift it to D4 the indicator light does not come on in the instrument panel and when I drive it all the gears change but not the very last one sometime the last gear change...

Look at 2 concerns...are you driving above 42 mph when you expect the shift into D4? Automatic overdrive transmissions will not shift into overdrive below that speed. Depending on your mileage, a transmission fluid change may be on your scheduled maintenance list...If over 100,000 miles and no record of previous service, you may want to use an additive instead of a fluid filter change. Sometimes on high mileage, problems occur after an attempt to catch up on ****** maintenance:( My best results have been to use the Lucas Oil Companies "Transmission stabilizer" additive. With a warm motor and transmission, you can add the full bottle of the additive without a need to drain the old fluid. This additive is designed to "refresh" the ****** fluid and filters...about $12. at your parts store. Also you may need to clean your throttle body and injectors by direct spray, and gas tank additive. These are the least costly attempts to address both problems. Hope this helps.

What is the best kind of transmission fluid to put in my car....I have a 1995 honda accord v.6

You must use AFT-Z1. The part number is CA66689. If you use Dexron III a friction modifier additive must be used with it such as Lubeguard or Kleenflo Platinum. This will help change the chemical nature of the Dex III so that it acts like Z1. Dex III by itself will cause damage to the transmission in a 1999 Honda accord. Honda used Dex III in transmissions built up to 1995, but after that they redesigned the transmissions and switched to their own fluid so be careful.

1995 jeep wrangler rear vibration when accelrating from 2nd to 3rd gear. what is priblem and what am I look at to fix?

Check the U-joints in the drive shaft and the transmission mount's. The u-joints may be worn or seized due to lack of grease. The other thing to to look at is the transmission fluid and check for the condition of the fluid. The fluid should be clear bright red in colour, if it's dirty and dark like burgundy. That could be an indication of the clutch pack to your 3rd gear may be worn out or your transmission line pressure is low, and if you have high miles. Just add a transmission fluid additive to help your shifting, good luck and hope it's just the u-joints.

Brief transmission shudder

I would recommend you do a fluid and filter change, these kind of things are common when fluid gets worn out from heat and miles. Also check for any trouble codes if the check engine light was on.
