Which fuse do I need to change to have the gear shift light up - thanks

The gear shift is fused with the park lights. If the park lights/dash lights are working, it will most likely be a burned out bulb

Where is license plate light fuse located in the fuse box

the fuse marked park. license plate lights are usually on the park light circuit. if your park lights work then you more than likely need to change the globe. the door of the fuse box should have a diagram telling you which fuses are for what

Trying to find the problem to why my park light fuse keeps blowing?

You are replacing parts but you should be focusing on wiring. you will need to physically check all the wiring for the rear tail lights and the front park lights for shorts to ground. you can also unplug all of the bulb sockets, replace the fuse, and see if it blows. if it does than it is in the wiring. If it does not than plug the sockets back in one at a time until the fuse blows, then inspect or replace that socket.

verify that you do not have condensation or corrosion in the light sockets. if you do, they sockets need to be replaced. your fuses are blowing most probably due to a faulty ground caused by corrosion (rust).

It isn't typical for the parking lights to be controlled by a relay. These are mostly wired directly from the main lighting switch via a fuse unless it is a multiplexed computer controlled system. If so the Haynes wiring diagram will be needed for deeper investigation.

I suggest you begin by checking the fuses.
