There is a clip on the window handle, use a rag and put it in between the handle and the door and there is a clip on it should pop off they sell a tool to take it on and off.

How to replace rear door speakers for 1997 GMC jimmy

I think your GMC have in-door rear speakers.!!
  • Look for screws in door panel or around the speaker vents.
  • If you are sure that the speaker cant be removed without opening the door panel then read this below.
  • Mostly seen near areas like door lever(inside), power window switch set, bottom and each sides of the whole panel.
  • If its manual window, then look for a circle clip in between the winding window lever and the door panel. Plunge screw driver between them a make a gap then look.
  • Assure that all clips or screws which obstacles the removal of the panel.
  • Simply pull the panel from sides towards you
  • If its completely open, then locate the speaker and unscrew it.
  • Check the connection wires for quality
  • Mostly its good to scratch the leads of the wire to remove copper oxide layer
  • Take the new speaker, check the holes on the door matching the speaker's
  • If needed, drill hole for screw and be sure that the new speaker is not more than 15cm diameter.
  • Connect the leads, fix the speakers.
  • Check the sound clarity with your car audio on.
  • If everything is perfect.. go on , fix the door panels
  • Mainly sure with the side clips of the panel, do not bent or break them.
  • Check for any balance parts or screws.
  • Screw everything back as normal.
  • You just installed a new speaker....
  • pls rate it!!

I have a 1997 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 Diesle 5 speed manual I have a factory radio with 6 disc. changer the radio works and so does the cd changer but I get very little volume Im sure its a amplifer problem....

To determine how your speakers are amplified you will need to know what speaker package is installed.

Usually Laramie editions come with Infinity speakers.
If I remember correctly the Infinity speakers have appliers on them.

My dodge truck is a year 99 2500 series, and I have already had to replace the door speakers. I used the cheap Walmart speakers. (6x9) They fit well enough.

Note: If your truck came with amplified speakers, non amplified speakers will only push what your radio can provide it in Wattage.

2004 sunfire ignition key wire does it have one/ instaling new radio only have constanyt 12 volt radio power on off button does not shut off do i use this wire and where does it go the ignition wire...

Hi, your factory Sunfire wire colors are pasted below. The yellow wire should be accessory. This should connect to the stereo's red power wire. The orange "always hot" wire should connect to the stereo yellow wire--this is only used to keep your station presets in memory. Please let me know if you have more questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

Replace a door speaker in a 1997 honda accord sedan

It's pretty easy to do. First, get a pry tool from a parts store to aid in getting the door handle off. While you are there, get a pry tool to aid in getting the clips off from around the outside of the interior door panel. Take those items off, unscrew the door arm rest screws and you're golden. unscrew the existing speaker, match the size with a new one, hook up your wiring, test the speaker by turning on the power and playing the radio and once you confirm you have a working speaker, put it all back together.

I NEED NEW SPEAKERS FOR MY FRONT DOORS IN MY HONDA CIVIC COUPE 1997 BUT DONT KNOW WHAT SIZE TO BUY?

Not sure if you had a sedan, hatch, or coupe but here is the info you requested. Front door speakers measure 6.5" with a top depth of 1.75" (you have no depth problems here but any larger than 1.75 and you might have to cut out the factory housing.)

If they are door or kick panel speakers, you have to remove that panel to extract the speakers. Then measure them with a ruler; better yet, make a pencil outline of them (outside rim) and also where the mounting holes are. Then, when you buy new speakers say at Best Buy or some such, you will get the proper size, mounting and DEPTH. Unless you want to build all new mounting enclosures, you have to be sure of all the size measurements so that your new speakers will fit.

Wiring them is easy. There should be instructions. Speaker wires do have a + and - side, and if you cross them, the speakers will work but won't sound as good. Also be sure you have the POWER to drive your new speakers. Buy speakers of the same "impedence", measured in ohms right on your speakers.

Also, in here you can find the 1997 Honda Civic Service Manual.

Easy job, good luck (remember rated this help).

Need to change door speaker, cant get the door paneling off nor the manual window roller upper off.

Take a flat screwdriver or other similar flat tool, gently pry between the window handle and door panel, you should just be able to see the clip that holds it on to the metal shaft of the window gear, you'll need a pair of needle nose pliers or a flat screwdriver to pull it off,to put it back on you put it on the widow handle and just pop it on the metal shaft.Hope this helps.

Can't get all 6 speakers to work, new aftermarket radio

To do this you will need a 2 channel amp. Run your 2 front speakers and 2 rear speakers as normal. For the other 2 speakers you will need to connect an amplifier- crutchfield.com and other sites have a good walkthrough on it, or you can pay someone to do it. You will use the RCA out on the back of the aftermarket stereo to send signal to the 2 channel amp, and connect the other 2 speakers to the amplifier.

Taking door panel off

If you have manual windows, remove the window crank handle. Then remove the screw from the trim around the door handle and pry the trim from the door. If you have power locks, disconnect the lock connector from the trim and set it aside. Now remove the panel screws from the bottom of the door (either four or five). You should now be able to pull the panel away from the door at the bottom and then lift it up and away. Once the panel is removed from the door, disconnect the speaker connector.
