Toyota Camry revs up to 3kms when started

My 1992 Toyota Camry is started it revs up high to 3k and then drops down to 2kms until it warms up. Once it warms up the idle speed drops down to 1 which is right. I have a remote start and sometimes it isn't able to start the car because it seems to take so much to get it going. I had the problem before the remote start was installed. I inherited the car it only has 42,000 miles...

My `94 toyota camry 2.2L, in the morning starts fine the RPM is at 1100, then when it gets warm it goes dowm to 800 RPMs is that normal or it should stays at least between 900 or 1000RPMs, please somebody...
high idle on starting is normal as it is the same as a choke being on. When it drops back it should be around 900. However tacos in cars are not real accurate under a 1000 rpms so have it checked manually with a rev counter. Run the fault codes to check for a problem.

That sounds about right to me. It needs slightly higher revs on a cold start and then should gradually drop to about 800 when engine has warmed up.

I have a 1989 Mazda 323, when cold engine idles very high, when very cold it idles so high that rev limiter kicks in, and it revs up, limiter kicks in, revs up limiter kicks in, once it warms up idle drops...
Have it looked at by a dealer,iam not sure here but i think you have a vacumn leak like the feed pipe to the servo split but really you need a mechanic who works on these cars day in day out and they will go straight too the problem for you

High rev at cold (winter cold!) idle
Your toyota technician should know what a "cold starting solenoid" is. It is the little thing that works your throttle until the motor warms up and something else takes over. I'd suggest going to another technician.

Will not go into drive or any other gear
