Have pink fluid leaking from under the dash.

I just bought a 1995 Escort and I now have a pink colored fluid coming from somewhere under the dash. Do you have any ideas where it could be coming from?

Hi I am Vortash .. as a guess it may be brake or clutch hydraulic fluid or antifreeze so first look in the radiator expansion tank if the same fluid in there you have a leak in your heater radiator matrix .. if not check the fluid reservoir in the clutch and brake some fluids are a pinkish colour if that is the same then you have either a clutch or brake master cylinder leak hope this is of help .. Regards Vortash ....

Fluid leaking around tire, spattering into wheel well.

First things first. Are the car brakes working? Is there a trouble light on in the dash? If the fluid is an oily reddish color it may be brake fluid, in which case the car should not be driven until a repair is done. If the fluid is green or pink in color it may be coolant , in which case have the coolong system checked for leaks.

I am trying to find the source of a rain water leak in my escort 55 van. If the van is left standing whilst it is raining water drips from somewhere under the dashboard on to the floor. I have tried to...

You might want to check under cowl area which is under the wipers. I would suggest for someone to use a garden hose while you are under dash with bright light looking for leak.

Losing brake fluid with no leak

It's a sealed system, so it's got to be going somewhere, leaking somewhere (or boiling off from severe braking operations over and over). Since you likely haven't experienced extreme braking, it must be leaking somewhere.
You will have to trace all your brake lines from the master cylinder to each wheel to check for any sign of leaking. Front calipers are easy to spot leaks when they leak. If you have drum brakes on the rear, you may need to pull off the drum to check the wheel brake cylinders. Peel back the rubber boot on each end of the wheel cylinder and look for any fluid leaks there.
Another place to check is at the back of the master cylinder. If a seal is bad there, it has been known to leak fluid inside the car, under the dash. Feel around the carpet under and behind the brake pedal for any wetness. If you find brake fluid there, you will need the master cylinder replaced or rebuilt.
Hope you find the problem. Don't forget to check the ABS system and brake lines, too.

Plymouth voyager is leaking pink fluid what could it be

Hi Barajas, The pink fluid may well be automatic transmission fluid. (ATF) The fluid in question is used in the automatic gearbox and the power steering unit. Different fluids come in different colors in different countries, but ATF is usually red or pink. Check the fluid levels in the gearbox and the power steering unit and I believe you'll find one of them is lower than its meant to be. Regards John

I am losing transmission fluid but can't find a leak????? where can it be going

I take it that it is an automatic transmission, if it is draining that much fluid a month and you can't find any outside leaks it could mean there is an internal leak somewhere. If you see a pink milkshake color in your coolant then it could be the radiator transmission cooler which I believe wont cause an outside leak so you can start from there. It is located and is part of the radiator. Just follow the transmission cooler line and it will lead you the possible problem.

When in drive the truck won't go but it reverses.

Do a quick inspection under the transmission for transmission fluid leak.
(pink fluid).

Check the transmission fluid level.

The fluid should be in lite pink color,no bubbles on the dipstick.

Top off ATF and check for forwarding gears.

2007 is under warranty. DO NOT ADD any transmission additive or chemical.

Call the dealer and let them handle the transportation of the truck to the shop.

Leaking radiator fluid but not from rad., pink fluid, no hose leaks

A fluid leak that is pink and/or red colored is usually either power steering fluid or transmission fluid. I recommend checking both. You can check the power steering fluid when the car is off. However, the transmission fluid should be checked with the engine warm and idling in neutral. Have someone else step on the brake or use the parking brake and block the wheels while you're measuring the transmission fluid level.

Oil leak somewhere abouve the starter.

It could be transmission fluid. This can leak if not sealed off and they smell similar. If you can get some of that leak on the ground and a good amount, put water onto it. If it turns pink it's transmission fluid. If it stays black the oil line may run under there somewhere. Don't really know about them German cars.
