This is most likely due to a warped front brake rotors. However also have front end check and make sure there are no bad tie rods also, because they will make this shaking alot worse. Good luck and thanks for using FIX YA

My car makes a coughing noise when I brake

Probably you have a bad vacuum hose, or connection to the Power brake chamber. Leak is causing extra air to mix with fuel and gives the ecu a headache. The brake chamber's diaphragm may also be tired and beginning to leak. You may be able to find leak at hose connections with a helper pressing brake and you spraying water or rubbing alcohala on all vacum hoses to and from the Brake chamber and the engine. When changes in engine speed and location of spray are matched, That should reveal the leak location. Repeat untill all leaks have been repaired

What does brake lamp bulb fault mean?

It means that one of the stop lights is not working. Check out the brake lights and replace the blown bulb. It may also mean that the brake fluid in the master cylinder reservoir is low and needs topping up.

Shaking at low speed

Does it shake all the time, or only when you use the brakes ?
A slow speed shake without using the brakes is most often a bad tire. The alignment only affects how the car steers.

Where is the speed sensor located . please be very specific.gauge in the speedometer works when it feels like it. i wonder if it's the speed sensor...

Is your ABS light on? This is usually a fault of the ABS control unit located under the brake proportioning valve. Speed sensors are located on the back side of each brake disc That info is sent to the ABS control unit then to the main computer. Is your ABS light on? This problem could be caused by bad sensors or more likely the ABS control unit.

Hi, I'm from Armenia. Pls, tell me, why while I am driving on a flat road ABS on and brake pedal starts to vibrate

you did not state what kind of car this is. so i will give you a brief explanation of how the ABS system works on most cars, their is a ABS computer that receives input from wheel sensors, (all four whells have a speed sensor ) and as you step on the brake pedal the computer keeps checking the speed sensors to see if any of them stop turning wile braking if this happens the computer thinks that the sensor that just sent the signal that it stopped turning must have locked up so when the computer sees this it takes over the braking of the car and it will release and reapply the brakes about 100 times a second to keep the car from locking the brakes and skidding out of control. what you are feeling is this system coming on line because it thinks a wheel just locked up, the most common problem when this happens is one of the wheel sensors is going bad.the ABS computer has the ability to remember what caused it to do this and if you can get someone to pull the trouble codes from the ABS computer it will tell you witch sensor is causing the problem.

I want 2 know what the speed sensor does -2005 4x4 tacoma extra c

if a speed sensor goes bad your ABS system will not function meaning your anti-locking brakes system, will not pulsate mulitple times if you step on the brake too hard or you hit a patch of ice, Most people hit the brakes hard when they start to slide across the road, however that allows the car to slide even more because the brakes are completely locked. The Speed sensor monitors the wheel and once it determines that the car is sliding it then kicks in and presses and releases the brake very fast and that is while you press the brake once.

It might be bad gas or a plugged filter or it might be a bad mass airflow sensor.

What Should I look For I just got it today.

Take a look at the cv joints....the boots that cover the ends that go into the tranny and the end that attaches to the tire area. Look at the color of the oil...see if it is grey or tainted with anything other than motor oil.

Take a look at the belts....cracks fraying, the belt tight....that type of thing for the belt inspection....look for shiny spots...leads to squealing.

Drive the vehicle at different're paying attention to the "feel" of the steering...this will give you indications of the front pulls left, it pulls right.....wobbles....make turns left and right....listen for clunks....all this will let you know the condition of the front end/steering system.

Get on the highway or open about 45-65 and slow down faster than usual...if it pulses in the front end, and you can feel it in the steering wheel...good bet the rotors are warped from high speed braking. Squeeks when you apply breaks....brake wear indicator telling you the brakes are worn.

Jack the front of the car up and twist and pull...push and pull the left and right tire....anby wobble or noises...may have bad bushing/ball joints/cv joints.

there is a lot of stuff to look for...but this is a few things to keep you busy.

Hope this helps you.

Please don't forget to rate.....Thanks

97 honda accord v6 luxury cruise control not working

Yes, it probably is the brake switch. It must be working properly for the cruise control to work. If the part you got did not come from a car with cruise control, it will only have two electrical posts and not the four that you need.
If it is the right part, it must be turned in until the button is pushed completely, but not so far that it begins to actuate the master cylinder. Please report your results.
