Question about 1994 Buick Regal Gran Sport
I have the modulator valve but cant find where it goes... what side ,top or bottom
Hello anderson31...the transmission modulator for the V6 front wheel drive should be front on the power pack, to the right of the engine above the starter. You can follow the vacuum line from the manifold down the front right of the engine to the modulator...
Removing the air induction will allow for easier access...
For safety...disconnect neg. battery cable to prevent suprises... u'll be in tight quarters.
Good Luck...hope this will fixya up.

Standing at the front of the car there is a metal line that comes off the intake manifold going toward the driver side. follow the line down the transmission and it connects directly to the modulator.

Tips for a great answer:

This problem is commonly caused by a dirty automatic idle speed control valve and throttle valve. Buy a can of throttle valve cleaner (do not use carburetor spray cleaner!) from NAPA or Carquest (made by CRC chemicals) and spray it into the air intake while the engine is running, use up about 1/2 the can, engine will try to stall hold the speed up, shut it down and let it soak for 30 minutes, restart and blow out the remaining fluid, shut it down and disconnect the negative battery cable for 5 Min's to reset the base idle control
