SOURCE: Random engine misfiring- fault code P0300- 1999 cutlass

Could be coil pack(s), fuel injectors, etc. Rather than retype it, just check out this great article on P0300 random misfire - http://www.obd-codes.com/p0300

What does it mean if the codes that come up are P2187 and several from P0300 - P0306 ? How should I get this fixed in a 2006 MB 350 4-Matic

P0300 indicates a random misfire - a misfire that is not consistent and not confined to one cylinder. Worn/faulty spark plugs, failing coil(s) or coilpack, wiring, connections... Fix that and the other codes will probably disappear.

My whole car raddles when in stop or idling. It also has shut off randomly at a stop light twice now. Ive replaced the spark plugs but obviously that didnt help.... 2009 chevy cobalt

hi,

incomplete tune up.
go pull codes at auto parts store then probably plug wires, fuel filter, air filter, pcv valve, the coilpack may not show on results just a misfire so the timetable is right for a cooked coilpack

Checked dtc codes in my ford ranger, found p1401 manufacturer control auxilary emissions control, p0304 p0306 cylinder 4 and 6 misfires. egr valve has been replaced

Check and / or replace plugs, wires, distributor cap, coil / coilpack

Change plugs especially if you have over 50k miles on them.
Wires can sometimes have cracks in them causing misfire.

Hope this helps...

While driving the car started to miss badly, the check engine light came on then began to flash. checked for codes, engine missfire was the only stored code. owners man. said cat. problem ?

It's not a cat problem or you'd have misfires on all cylinders. P0300 is random misfires, and the codes increment to show what cylinder is misfiring. P0301 is a misfire on cylinder 1, P0302 is cylinder 2, etc. You likely have a bad coilpack. Whichever cylinder is indicated, replace that coilpack.

Car sputters and no power, now it will not crank

Check the coil pack. they are common to fail and the engine will usually misfire for a while and then not start when it gets cold out. you can do a quick check by removing one plug wire at a time and having someone crank the engine. the spark should jump right down the tower the wire goes onto to the base of the coilpack. if this does not happen then you need to replace the coilpack first. take the 6 tork head screws out and remove the wiring under it that goes to the module. carefull not to mix up the wires under the coilpack or to the spark plugs. reinstall the coilpack and reinstall the plug wires and try to start the engine. i will look for a response incase you need more help. good luck.

Check nengine light is on. i put a scanner and it said problem code p0300

PO300 is Random Misfire and can be caused from a variety of things from Spark plugs to wires, to coilpacks, and most common and overlooked the clogged fuel injectors which you cannot clean by putting something in the tank, you positively must have them professionally cleaned or replaced to fix them,
