Let me get this straight, u dosconnect the battery cable and the battery runs dead? if that is what u are saying then the battery has an internal draw and is defective, this draw is caused by a shorted cell.

2006 sienna / jump started another car and got back in sienna and it was dead. no lights, nobuzzers,no ignition response, nothing. jUST BOUGHT BATTERY IN APRIL.

Disconnect battery and clean terminals, leave battery disconnected for at least ten minutes. Reconnect and test. If it still does not start you may have blown a fuse or damaged the on board electronics. Newer cars are more prone to damage from boosting and that is why you see so many of those portable jump packs for sale now.

Have you checked the battery terminals for corrosion. I would clean them, leave the battery disconnected for ten minutes and reconnect and see what happens. There is always the possibility of shorting out the computer systems of newer cars when jump starting, that is the reason you see so many of these jump start battery packs out now.

cheapest thing to start with is to buy a new battery. they arent built to last. if that doesnt help then its your alternator. sounds like its gonna be the alternator though. you can test it with a test light though or some alternator repair shops will look at it for free. it will only take them a minute to do if you feel like taking the alternator in

If you disconnect the battery over night and the vehicle starts after reconnecting ti in the AM then you have a short some where. If this works let me know and I can try and help you further through a process of elimination. Thanks.

No power....no click.....no anything....

yes this car has everything electrical even transmission shifter.if the battery were totally dead it will take long time to revive it, even if it comes back most never do but jumping the battery terminals should let you shift it into neutral unless the cables you have are bad,.load test the battery if its good than check for bad fuses and bad connections.

Most partstores will test battery altenator and starter for free. Either your battery is dead or your connections are not metal to metal contact, or you starter relay may be shot. You can put key in on position and either test with a voltmeter or use a screwdriver and jump terminals on solenoid to see if starter turns.

Will not start

bad silonoid on starter
the actual cable on starter is bad even though you replaced the positive battery connector the whole cable could be bad
also your new battery might not be a heat battery example= a battery that cannot handle heat and will die on you this indicates a dead cell in battery
bad alternator not charging battery
bad ignition coil
scorched spark plug wiring
dead cell in battery even though the battery can show good it can still be bad
battery's these days are usually refurbished battery's practically every one recycles batterys so its a chance that you got a bad battery try a jump then while vehicle running disconnect the positive post of battery if vehicle dies its the alternator

i myself had to do a battery swap 4 times before i got a refurbished battery without a dead cell this something that is a pain but once you get a good battery then everything should work
