Want to convert my electric audi 80 roof into a manual one

no need to convert.
the electic roof can be opened manually by:-
unlock the roof using the handle on top of the windscreen and push roof back as far as posible.
lift flaps adjacent to door pillers
you will see a small lever which can be retracted (both sides)
when these levers are retracted the roof will push down fully into its compartment
when erecting the roof ensure that the two levers are fully open to accept the roof retaing lugs

Convertible top doesn't open all the way

first let the system cool down if you try to open it and it was blocked by those hats because the hydraulic system have some thermal sensors .if after 30 minutes is still not working check the level of hydraulic oil (not the one from the steering ) i must be somewhere in the back of your car depending the model .U can also try to help a little with your hand but don`t apply extreme force ,just help it on the move especially on the last part where is not working well

Top worked fine yesterday but today tried to let down only clicked

It is a hydraulic pump that applies pressure to the 2 hydraulic pistons to raise & lower the top. So, check for something obstructing movement first.

The convertible top:
  • is motor-driven.
  • requires parking brake engaged to complete circuit for operation.
  • is equipped with a back window glass (42006) . The back window glass is permanently attached to the folding top back window curtain (52500) and cannot be opened.

My mother is having the same problem with her 2005 vw beetle too ... i looked in the fuse box, and i think i found the fuse that has blown ... i dont know about yours .. but hers would not even attempt to put the top down at all ... so i figured it had to be a blown fuse... ill be replacing it tomorrow if it is that ill let you know .. i cant remember the exact spot off hand, but i know it was a 25 amp yellowish fuse

2001 Boxster: hi i have a 2001 porsche boxster s, i opened my to...

To close the top, the parking brake must be engaged and the ignition in the ON position. Assuming that these conditions are met, you can close the top manually if needed. The procedure involves (1) removing key, (2) removing convertible top link covers, (3) gently prying conv top lid links on both side, (4) lifting the conv top lid to open position, (5) gently prying the red links off, and (6) finally manually lifting the top to the closed position.

Before taking such measures, if you do not hear the motors, check the B6 and D3 relays. You might also want to check the microswitch on the top/center windshield frame.

The top on my 2005 mini cooper s will not go down .

often times this problem ends up needing a front sunroof section of the conv top replaced. The cable that drives the hooks to unlatch is most likely broken and that is currently the only fix. EXPENSIVE. Sorry

The top of my 1999 porsche boxster wont close. When i push the button it doesn't even make a noise like it is trying to close. what should i do?

The convertible top on my 1998 boxster would not work either, nor would the windows go down. If you have checked the fuse and it is fine, then it may be what I had experienced which is the switch located in the center console directly under the hand brake. There is a white plastic switch with a plunger on it that is engaged by the handbrake being raised. When the handbrake is engaged it activates the switch which then allows the convertible top to be activated. It's a $5.00 part, (I know, I couldn't believe it either) from the porsche dealer, and a very easy to do yourself job, it took me 10 minutes from start to finish. It would be worth spending the $5 and replacing it anyway, at least you could rule it out if it stll does not work you only spent $5 rather thank $140 an hour labor rate at dealer. Pop the side plastic panel under the hand brake on the drivers side and you will see the white plastic switch. Good luck.
