How do i replace the lifters - do the need to be torqued?

Most lifters can be replaced while the engine is still in the car, but it makes it so much easier to work on the engine if it's removed and put on a rotating engine stand.

How do i replace the rear engine mount on a Toyota Echo 1999

Hi Cam, Im AL the owner of Big As Auto Repair

Cam, the only way to remove the engine mount is the provide clearance between the bracket by lifting the engine upward with a floor-jack so the mount clears and is removable. For further assistance contact me through my auto-repair website for free: http://www.bigasautorepair.com/

Replace water pump

Well the bad news is if you have the 3.5 liter engine, the entire engine assembly needs to be removed in order to change the water pump. If you happen to have the 3.3 liter engine you will need to remove the timing belt in order to get at it. Need to know what your engine size is before I can help any further

Trying to ghange the spark plugs on 2004 Endeavor, cant find them, where are they located, are there any good scematics available.

I dont have scematics avail for this vehicle. Here is some info though. There are three at the front top part of the engine. You will see three black ignition coils over plugs (COPs) with a grey electrical connector connected to it. Onece removed, Below these COPs are the sparkplugs. At the rear of the engine, there are another three COPs. (coils). But in order to get to them, you must remove the intake manifold. its the large black plastic pipes atop the center of the engine heading towards the rear of the engine. This entire unit needs to be removed. This job is about $450-$860 at the dealer or auto repair shops. It's not an easy task!! Hopefully this helps!!

The engine valves are rattling like a desiel, on my 1998 ford explorer 5.0. How can i solve this?

This engine has hydraulic lifters that depend on clean oil with good oil pressure. Check the oil dipstick for proper level. Try an oil additive that is supposed to help sticky lifters. If no help, you may need to replace the entire lifter set which requires removing the intake manifold and removing the rocker arm assemblies to get to the lifters. If the engine has high miles, you may need other repairs as well. Good luck!

ECU

I regret to tell you this, but, the whole truth is: Taking out a diesel and installing a 4AFE will require you to change the entire engine room wiring harness (including the fusebox), the proper 4AFE (manual or auto trans ECU), the fuel pump and the fuel filter, the air intake system, and most def the dashboard harness (which also connects to the ECU). What you have here is 2 entirely different worlds, gasoline vs diesel.
Sorry.
I would not recommend you to undertake this job, unless you have a complete "donor" vehicle for the abovementioned parts.
