Try being nice and ask your local chevy parts man for the code, but you still need a professional scanner to reset and enter the code

The radio dont work ,you disconnect the battery or battery came dead. The radio ask for security code on the screen when lit

If so you had to ask the dealer for the code he will charge you he had to open an invoice to Detroit Michigan. So YOU cannot have your radio stolen. If you disconnect the battery you have to put a back up battery 9 volt thru lighter will do to keep memory to the radio

Radio does not work will not prompt security code

Disconnection and/or draining of the battery is interpreted by your Jag as a stolen radio so you have to go back to the beginning and reenter the radio code. The CD player problem may go away once the radio is properly identified.

Changed battery now radio doesn't work

By disconnecting the battery the radio thinks that it was being stolen so it went into security mode. You will need to re-enter the security code for the radio and it will turn back on. The code may be in the hand book or you can get it from the car dealer as it is on record from the factory unless it is not original

I need a code number of radio Honda Accord 1998 serial no.M97A189067

Nobody is supposed to have the complete database of codes, only authorised dealers. As a security measure, any time the battery is disconnected, the radio is Locked Out, and will not function until the security code is entered on the radio itself. Furthermore, after 3 tries, it wont even accept the code on the radio display, showing the ERR condition. Check for a sticker with the radio code inside the glove box. Some dealers fixed a second sticker in the owners manual. If not available, get the code from a Honda dealer, and be prepared to show VIN number, and proof of vehicle ownership. When you get hold of the code, disconnect the battery for 15 min. This will erase the ERR condition, and allow you to introduce the reactivation code.

Just recently bought a used 1998 Acura 2.3Cl and the Radio is not working. When I turn the radio on, it says " Err-3". Any Suggestions on what needs to be done. I really do not want to spend a...

This is just a quick suggestion to try before doing anything to the radio if you haven't already done so. Try this before doing anything else. Believe it or not, actually contact an Acura dealer and ask for the service department. Tell them what code your radio is displaying. It's possible that someone who had the vehicle before, could have disconnected the power to the vehicle which could have caused the radio to go into security lockout mode. If this turns out to be the problem, then the dealer might be the only ones who can help you with this particular problem. I don't normally recommend people to dealerships because that's not what this site is all about. It is about trying to help people and sometimes that is the only way you can get the problem taken care of. Do not disconnect power to the radio until you check that out.If it turns out to be that, then it might not be that expensive. I hope this information is helpful to you and thank you for using Fixya.com.

CODE ERROR WHEN DISCONNECTING BATTERRY

Are you asking how to get the radio to work after disconnecting battery? There is a code in your instruction manual. You punch the code in using the radio number buttons and it restores the system. Hope that helps.
