Door chime stays on

I have a 1996 Chevy Sliverado and I removed the driver's side door panel. Since I have removed it, the chime stays on. When I removed the #1 fuse - stop/haz it stopped. How do I disengage it and where is it located. I can hear it but cannot see it. Thanks for the assistance.

The door ajar switch on the side of the dash needs to hit the door panel to shut off the chime and dome light.Pull the switch from the dash and unplug it.
