Question about 1997 Isuzu Rodeo
Window on front drivers side is down and does not want to come up again. When pressing the button a small clicking noise can be heard from within the switch box. The other three windows are working so there is power to the unit. This happened once before but fixed itself after being left for 12 hours. Not this time! Have no wiring diagram so do not know if there are individual fuses for each window.Mechanically it seems the linkage is intact and the glass is unbroken.
How do I establish if the motor is broken?
Could it be the switch itself not doing the job?
The switch is very small so I assume there is a relay somewhere in the circuit to provide the higher amperage needed to drive the motor. Where is this relay?
After taking away the door panel and the door loudspeaker I found that the wires leading to the lift motor had somehow got caught in the gadget that dampens the force to save the hinges breaking when you open the door. This mechanism is bolted on to the door with two bolts and to the door frame with a pin. It has a spring steel tang attached to a stopper inside the door. The wires had somehow got caught between the stopping plate and the door frame. Motor was burned out and replaced. All OK now.
