the air con appears to be the problem. when it's charged everything works. it looses the new charge over a few days though and then the problems return. The garage cannot find the reason that the air con won't hold a charge. They say it's not leeking!!!

Why is warm air coming out of vents but not of heat and defrost.

Not sure what car / truck but most have a nob on the dash with little pictures of the things that will have warm / cool air blown, so you need to select the right picture, alternativly turn the nob all the way to the right and see what happens then all the way to the left, you should find the air comes out of the demist vents in one or the other. Hope this helps

Hiya, On Tuesday just gone I noticed that the windows were not demisting, and had to keep wiping the inside of the windows, I would start off in the car and the windows would mist up whilst driving....

I would suggest that you have a small leak in your heater core. It does not take much of a leak to cause moisture on the windows. Eventually your radiator fluid will start to go down. This will not get any better and you need to replace the heater core. You may soon smell a sweet antifreeze smell as well and if you drive that way your interior will get sticky. Get it checked ASAP

2006 x type saloon demist function does not work floor and other outlets o.k

the demist function should be for the windscreen. the a/c should kick on and put out heat at the dash vents. the combination between the a/c and the heat allows the system to evaporate any moisture in the air allowing it to warm you and evaporate any moisture on the windscreen, and anywhere else they may have it duct to so that vision is not impaired. enjoy!

I am not sure if this will help. I have 2 Audi's, old 1991 turbo models, and the antennae on both is part of the rear windshield demist "coil". On my model, the very top section of the demist coil is separate from the rest and has two connections which go into the sidepanel and lead to the antennae "electrics", a small rectangular box situated behind the carpet in the trunk on the left hand side.
