Question about 2001 Jeep Cherokee

I have a 2001 Jeep Cherokee - need rear seat with headrests -

What model Jeep has a rear seat with headrests that will fit my 2001 Cherokee? My concern is whiplash for rear passengers. We could do minor modifications like drilling new holes (probably not welding).

Don't remember ever seeing one. You can make anything fit anything if dimensions are close but since your seat folds, it will take extensive work to put anything in there. likely easier to install some kind of roll bar (semi permanent) with head supports. that way you can remove it if you need the space. Nothing there will be cheap or easy though.

How to remove front seat head supports

Depends on the car you have. Some cars head supports can't be removed. Most likely if it has automated head supports them they won't come out but if the other manual ones then stick you hand under the sides of the head support and you should feel a small button you can push. You have to hold the button down while pulling the headrests upwards to completely take them off the seats.

Hope that helps. Cheers.

Start with removing the head rests. There is a handle on each one on the backside. push the handle and lift the headrest up till it comes out. You'll find a handle looking appr. 1" out of the seat, you'll see it near the door at the hind quarter of the seat. Pull the handle up and the seat will lift and swing. Swing them up to upright position. at the bottom of the backseat, back upholster you find another handle on each inner wheel cover. press them back wards and pull the seat back down.

It's pretty easy. Raise the headrest all the way up. Look at the plastic pieces on the seat where the headrest supports go into the seat. One of them will have a small hole. Get a paperclip and push it into the hole while pulling up on the headrest and it will come out.
