Most likely problem is broken blend door. Common on these cars. On the last one I replaced (just a few months ago) we had to order the entire a/c box assembly. Also the entire dash has to be removed to replace it and is easily broken if not done correctly.

Sounds like a possible broken/ripped/disconnected air line (hose) to the compartment.

the reason it is blowing hot air at you is that the system is over pressure. there are two switches on an A/C a low pressure switch and a high pressure switch, and when one of those switches is actived it shuts down the whole system. when an A/C system has too much freon it will not blow cold know matter how much you try to recharge it. my suggestion to you is to take it to a repair shop that you trust and have them give you an estimate on what it would to take to fix it. As you said you are not a mechanic and you will need special tools to diagnose what is going on with the A/C system. and that stuff you bought I would not use it in my own car. You never want to mix freons if your car takes R134a freon that is what you want to put in it. unless you have re-engineered your A/C system to something else. good luck and let me know what the out come is AJ

We have 5 codes, po141,po172,po606,po014,po016 on a 2004 gmc envoy xuv. Can you help.

Here is a brief description of the codes;
P0141 - rear O2 sensor
P0172 - system too rich
P0606 - PCM internal failure
P0014 - Camshaft phasing off
P0016 - Camshaft position and crankshaft position off

This going to require a qualified technician to diagnose. The PCM issue may require a reflash of its memory or a replacement.
The other codes could be related to each other. One suspect item is the camshaft position actuator, sometimes it gets clogged with oil and make it fail.
