Question about 1989 Honda Accord 4 Door

1989 lxi fi a/c control head

My climate control stopped working. none of the push buttons work but the temp slides still work. i checked all the fuses and they were good. i assume the head is bad but cant find a replacement online or at any local part stores.

    the lights on the panel do not work. could it still be a vacuum prob?

Assuming you have already checked all the fuses, you probably have a failed Body Control Computer, which manages operation of climate control, radio, lighting, alarms, and a host of other functions. Your Chrysler technician can confirm that. Be warned: a BCC can cost a LOT of money, as in many '90s Chrysler products, they had to be programmed at the factory for your specific vehicle; a junkyard unit will not work in any car but the one it came in.

first check that you don't have a stuck button
if all are OK .
then check the control unit see if You smell a burning smell coming from the control head.if so you need to replace it

Your closing in. There is a motor that will open the heater core venting to allow it to blow into the car. Get a heater core install picture from your auto parts dealer or car dealer for specs of where and how it is driven.

The lighting in the A/C control head is not serviced. If you want it repaired you will have to but a control head. Good Luck
