Sounds like you have a bad selenoid or starter.

Do i need to relearn the tps on a 1999 vw jetta

Unhook battery, press brakes to de-power everything. Leave unhooked for half hour or more.

Re-connect the battery. Turn key to on position. Do not start the car... just to on. Don't touch the gas pedal at all. Leave for ~10-20min.

Turn key straight to start and start the car. Do not touch the gas pedal. Let idle for ~10min without touching anything.

Turn off car. Restart, drive. It might take a few heat cycles and a bit of driving before the ECU 'learns' everything over again.

Why after checking fuse in fuse box my car wont start, everything was working fine before that

Starter or star soliniod. You need to check if you are getting power through soleniod and to starter.

Vehicle will not start

i don't know how much you know about cars but if you look at the positive terminal on battery you will see a wire going to a block with two screws. turn the key to on position where all lights are on dash, short the two screws (jump the white pink wire) with a screw driver, starter will get power and turn or will click sound. i think the taurus is known for having a loose connection from starter to relay.

My 2008 Saturn Vue won't crank or start!? We have tried everything to get the Saturn started but nothing working. It's not the starter or the battery. We have lights and everything works just won't crank...

If you have a voltmeter, Connect one end to the hot terminal on your starter. (Making sure that you don't get any body part or anything stuck in any moving parts in your engine compartment!) Turn the key and look at the meter. If it goes up to 12 V or higher, that means that power is getting to the starter, and the problem is either the starter or a bad ground. If the voltage stays at zero, the problem is before the starter and could be your alarm, a relay, a fuse, etc. It would help you to have the wiring diagram for your car.

I have a 2002 sunfire... and i have trouble turning it on. Once it startes it is stuck there because it will not turn at all. Once it is in this position the wipes wont work, the windows wont roll down,...

sounds like you need a new ignition, reason nothing works cause once it doese turn over n starts the car the tumbler is stick in the starting position jus not far enough to keep the starter engaged but far enough the it still trying to go trough the start process which cuts the power to everything else till the ignition returns to the on postion

did you try jus turning the ignition far enough to when the starter engages jus let go of it so the car doesnt start and see if everything else still doesnt work if it dont i belive its the igniton

also with out starting it or engaging the starter as in just turning the key on to get power does anything work?

Car will not turn over but have lights

Hi, first thing you need to find out is if its a starter issue or power issue. Turn lights on and radio and anything else that is electrical in your car. Does everything stay on and bright? Does the car start clicking after a short time? If everything is good and your headlights are bright as they usually are, then you have a starter problem, maybe a connection problem from the battery or maybe it just went out(usually starters don't just go out without any warning) If the lights are dim or the car starts clicking after a few minutes having everything on you probably have a power issue. It's either alternator or battery. To test this get a jump start from somebody, when you get it started turn lights on and let run for a min. If it doesnt die shortly after that, disconnect the power side of the battery, if the vehicle continues to run then you have a bad battery if the vehicle dies it would be a bad alternator. Hope I could be of some assistance to you.

Everything has power when i turn the key to the on position but when i turn the key to start the truck, nothing happens. headlights dont dim or anything and everything still has power. all fuses are...

When you crank the engine are you getting a full 12 volts positive at the solenoid switch on the top of the starter?

Have you got a full 12 volts negative to the switch?

Also, check the earthing strap from chassis to engine is good.

My jeep won't turn over, but everything has power, lights will still come on, stereo, everything electronic works, just.. not the starter.

Check for power at the starter main cable and at the small trigger wire beside it (with key turned to start).
If no power at the small wire, check the neutral safety switch (or clutch switch if stick) starter relay and any fuses in the power distribution center near battery. Even though you have power everywhere, check that the terminal connections are clean and tight. Your starter draws far more power than anything else and can cause a bad connection to "break" when that much amperage is demanded. If you have power at both items on the starter, the starter itself may have failed.

1999 Alero won't start but it has power?

I had this problem with my 2000 alero turned out to be the fuel pump relay located in the fuse box under the hood. the air conditioner uses the same type relay swap them out and see if it starts, it doesn't cost anything.
