My fuel pump is good, but foe some reason it's not getting any electrical power from the line....what should I do?

Well Jason you could have a bad fuel pump relay in the underhood electrical center . The PCM - powertrain control module turns on the relay . An your vehicle has a anti-theft system probably ! Is there A security light lit on the dash ? If not pull the fuel pump relay out of the electrical center an check for power an grounds , there will be two grounds an one battery voltage an one open . The open will be power when cranking the engine , this is the control side from the PCM . If you look on the side of the relay there should be a circuit diagram , an on the bottom the pin's should be marked 30 , 87 this is the fuel pump side of the relay. 87 is battery voltage , 87 goes to the fuel pump . Automatic ?? You should be able to unlock the doors from the inside and open them. If someone set the child safety locks you may have to remove the door panels and unlock from the inside of the doors.

P1494 (M)Leak Detection Pump Sw or Mechanical Fault. Incorrect input state detected for the Leak Detection Pump (LDP) pressure switch.

The Evaporative LDP switch may be bad or the pump itself has a problem. Check the pump, the wire connections, and the hoses attached to it.

The Leak Detection Pump (LDP) is used only with
certain emission packages.
The LDP is a device used to detect a leak in the
evaporative system.
The pump contains a 3 port solenoid, a pump that
contains a switch, a spring loaded canister vent valve
seal, 2 check valves and a spring/diaphragm.
Immediately after a cold start, engine temperature
between 40°F and 86°F, the 3 port solenoid is briefly
energized. This initializes the pump by drawing air
into the pump cavity and also closes the vent seal.
During non-test test conditions, the vent seal is held
open by the pump diaphragm assembly which pushes
it open at the full travel position. The vent seal will
remain closed while the pump is cycling. This is due
to the operation of the 3 port solenoid which prevents
the diaphragm assembly from reaching full travel.
After the brief initialization period, the solenoid is
de-energized, allowing atmospheric pressure to enter
the pump cavity. This permits the spring to drive the
diaphragm which forces air out of the pump cavity
and into the vent system. When the solenoid is energized
and de-energized, the cycle is repeated creating

95 De ville concours when I turn on the ign. the thottle starts pumping and clicking Like a broken gear on an electric motor jumping.

Hello: Sounds like you have a dirty throttle body, get a can of carburetor cleaner, open hood, driver side remove rubber hose from air filter box to the throttle body, unplug the sensor (don't forget to reconnect it) Spray carburetor cleaner on a rag and remove all the black carbon in the throttle body, hold the throttle plate open and clean carbon off the edges of the throttle plate. put all back together then turn key on for ten seconds then off. do this three times in a row. this should correct the problem

If you look at the fuse panel, it may say 'fuel pump' abbreviated or explicitly next to the fuse in question.

Sounds like your talking about an engine air pump. If so and its not belt driven then it will run while the engine runs.

An aircompresor inside the driverside fender on my 86 de Ville

It is for the self leveling suspension,If it is running all the time,You have a broken line some where and you can just unhook the wires to it until you get the lines fixed.

Runs ok with choke almost closd

With the choke almost closed your using the vacumn of the intake maniflod to **** more fuel. This means that your engine is running too lean with the choke open. Why? Possibilities are, Fuel pump output to low, Check by disconnecting the fuel line at the carb (this takes two people) hold the end in a tin can, crank the engine. if fuel flow is good then pump isn't the problem if it's just a trickle replace the pump and the filter and you should be good to go. Other possibilities are clogged fuel lines. On an '86 I'd replace them unless they are stainless in which case I'd just blow them out with compressed air. Pinched fuel line, look for crushed areas or kinks, clogged fuel filter, should be an in-line filter near the carb on an '86. Other than that your carb might be set up wrong or in need of a good cleaning ang rebuild. I'd start by inspecting the furl lines and flow and go from there. Sounds like a fun ride! Good luck with it!
