Re: when i try and back up my RX 300 wont go in reverse
Does the lever nbot go physically into the position,or does it indicate but not move?check the linkage at the transmission.i would put the unit on a hoist ,disconnect the linkage at the transmission,then move it and see if the gears work.if they do,there is a shift lever/linkage problem.

Try to put the put the key in the driver side and turn it to the open position. Like when the car is locked and your gonna unlock it with the key. This method should stop the alarm to go off.

You don't need to change diff oils very often after first initial stage (usually about 25000km) After that about 80000km capacity should be in manual Probably about a quart each but just fill them up till oil starts running out cause the hole where you put the oil in is the level

Lift the hatch. The tall center light is located behind the
upper hatch inside panel. There are two
panels need to remove. One panel is on the right, the other on the left. To
remove the panels you have to use flat screw driver to pry out the panel in
several locations. (These panels are secured by several small metal clips.) Be
careful to collect all these clips and replace them on the back of the panel.
You will need these clips to replace the panel later on. After remove the panels,
you will be able to locate the screws on the tall center stop light assembly. Remove
those screws and cover. After replacing light bulb. Assemble everything in
reverse order. Remember, the metal clips have to set on the back of the two
panels not the car body.
Unscrew 3 - 4 screws on the front tire fendor cover close to your side marker light. Pull the fender cover out, use your other hand to reach the side marker light. Using twist and pull the light set out. Replace a new light bulb. Replace everything in a reverse order.
I have a 2001 RX 300 and mine has done the same thing. The first time it happened the dealer had me bring it in. It was under warranty, and they replaced something, which I can't remember. Then it happened a year or so ago, and the service rep at the dealership told me that her car does the same thing, and I should just let it reboot itself in a day or so. It did it two days ago driving back from a long trip. The service rep said to bring it in because she didn't know what was going on (I think she was new).
It's now resolved itself again. It must be a fluke with the model, but I don't worry about it.
