Is my fuel filter built into the pump

We had a 96 dodge caravan 3.3l and the filter was part of the tank the bottom. I believe this is the same thing with yours.

Chrysler / Dodge stopped using external fuel filters in 1997 or 1998 depending on the model.

does the gas pump shut off automatically?? when filling it is good. Change your fuel filter, and the valve is in the gas cap, your fuel pump is in the tank!!

Like most late model Chrysler products this car doesn't have an external "IN LINE" fuel filter, the filter is a very fine mess Nylon sock that goes over the inlet of the fuel pump inside the fuel tank, it is never serviced unless the fuel pump is replaced. This has been the norm since the late 90's. You can buy the strainer separately if you still desire to replace it. See picture below and part number.

the fuel pump is in the gas tank and the fule filter runs along the bottom of the Driver side..if your looking at the gas tank follow the gas lines that go toward Eng. you will see the Fuel filter

It should be found next to the gas tank on the right side, under the sliding door of the passenger side of the van. The fuel filter is cylindrical and about five inches

check to see if you installed the filter correctly.the filter will be marked with an arrow or will say inlet on it. correctly place the inlet side to the fuel tank side or the arrow going to the engine side. then if this was done correctly and u still have no fuel to engine the pump is damaged inside tank or trash has restricted the inlet strainer to the pump inside the tank. hope this will help!!!

this van does not have a fuel filter, its in the tank. when you replace the fuel pump you will be replacing the filter as well

That particular car do not have an external fuel filter.
Inside the fuel tank, the pump strainer is the only filter

Your fuel filter is located along the frame in between the fuel lines leading from the actual tank. its external and is in line with the frame close to the fuel tank.
