Question about 1991 Buick LeSabre

1 Answer

Climate control does not blow cool air. When I turn the temp down there is no change in air temp. It blows full hot air. Sometimes I can give the dash a smack with my hand and it will blow cool air, but that only works once in a while. I know the the system is charged. Should I change out the climate control?

That's probably the best place to start. Maybe you'll find a loose wire in there while you're at it. The smack on the dash thing doesn't really fit for that, but, hey, if you can find another one for cheap... nothing to lose.

You going to have to tear the dash apart (ac control panel) to see why your switch is not working. The control valve unit works on vacum systems and you need to find out where is leaking or the hoses is old and broke off. If your ac compessor still working and blowing cold air but does not adjust the temperature, it will be in the control valve. Is very easy to fix if you locate the leaks or a bad valves. hope that help some.

I have a 2000 pontiac grand prix with a digital climate control system. The heat quit working, it doesn't blow out any heat. Now that it is warm outside the air stopped blowing out any air. The digital temperature on the climate control is not correct. When it states that it is below 30 degrees on the ext and it is warm outside the air wont be cold. Once it starts going above 30 degrees the air gets colder. Today the blower stop working all together. Was told it maybe the climate control unit was bad. You can hear the door opening/shutting when you switch the temp from cold to hot. But there was no heat blowing out whatsoever in the winter time. Could you please give me your opinion on whether or not it is the climate control unit or something else?

I have a 1993 dakota, the climate control only blows though the window area. I cannot get air flow to move from the window to any other setting, floor or dash. Wondering what the issue may be and how to...

wakow4u, What you have to do is look for a vacuum line that comes from the engine and enters the passenger compartment through the firewall. This vacuum line controls the climate control. A small rubber hose that fits tightly will suffice as a good and quick repair. Good luck with this.

No hot air on driver side. Pasenger side has hot air.

if it has dual zone climate setting it could be stuck in the cool setting. if it is not blowing any air it could be the duct came loose and it is blowing the air inside the dashboard. it will require you to pull the dash apart to inspect what the exact cause is. it could be anything from a bad temp setting switch in the climate control panel to a bad vac line that that switches the air from hot to cold. any other info you could give me may help such as if it is full electronic climate or manual knobs, dual zone, is it blowing any air or just no hot air.

My climate control starts blowing hot air while a/c is on

Make sure you have fully charged AC sytem first, if so Im sorry to tell you this but this is a difficult deal.you may not be able to correct this without taking it to a repair shop with gm scan tool. Reason being the actuators for the hvac that most likely are malfunctioning from either them or another component being bad , require recalibration. The other reason would be the body control module related. It would have to be scanned for U codes which can effect the hvac control.Sorry but thats what I know.

My air blows hot even tho my climate control is on cold

U have a stuck air temp control blend door, either the actuator motor is defective or the door is warped and has jammed, one thing is that u must remove the dash to rcheck replace these parts.

if you are sure that your heater core is not restricted. then try to recalibrate the climate control panel. if your a/c system is not working then DO NOT ATTEMPT THE RECALIBRATION it will make your lights on climate control panel flash codes forever.
to reclaibrate the climate control panel just have the engine running. turn the mode to vent, the temp to cold, the blower on high, then press and hold the rear wiper wash and wiper buttons at the same time until the panel lights up then wait about 2 minutes for it to run completly when completed. turn off ignition and then restart the engine try to se if you have heat again. if it doesntwork post the codes it gives you after the calibration test.

Heater only blows hot (well, warm) on full speed of fan

Replace the temp control on this car, it should be electrical control not cables.

Dual climate control

There is a thing called a blend door, it controls air temp, that is where the problem is, most common issue is the motor that operates the door fails.
