Question about 1993 Jeep Wrangler
I have a 1993 wrangler been having trouble starting it i changed the cps an the the cam sensor then it worked for a hour or so an died changed the cam sensor agin an it started right up then died an woulndt start agin now we started to check the wiring harness an found 3 wires melted throughout the harness 1 of the wires was from the ignition an 1 was from the lights an the last one was a ground wire melted in spots other 2 melted badly now i should tell you this was a swap from a 2.5 to a 4.0 we used both of the wiring harness under the hood an the dash now we have changed out the 2 wires with new ones an taped up the ground. started right up an ran fine for hours all night long then just when thought all was good my problem of NO SPARIK struck agin. i was coming down a hill when all of the sudden it just shut off an wouldn't start checked for spank an had none now ive changed the coil an cam sensor etc all execpt the distributer before this last run im not sure yet if wires are melted agin but what would make this happen [wires to melt] ?? if the new wires turn out ok an not the problem what would cause this failure of spark and or equipment failure is this common???? plz an ty for any help
It sounds like you may have a bad crank positioning scensor or could possibly be in the ecm try the wires first then i would go from there
