Question about 1998 Chrysler Town & Country
Your vehicle is more than likely in limp mode. Usually due to faulty input/output sensors in the transmission. They are located on the front of trans case and can be changed without hoisting the vehicle. You will need to remove the air cleaner housing and tubes to access them.

Check the speed sensor on the tranny cause if the speedometer is not working the tranny will not shift.The computer will not recognize that the transmission is in motion so will not shift.

transmission speed sensor needs replacing about 40.oo$ at the dealer sits on the right side of transmission looking from the front of the radiator g s.
