Useing a small screwdriver, gently pry the window switch up, and un plug it.Remove the 3 screws, then with a door panel tool start at the bottom front and pry gently out on the panel, work your way around the door. Lift up on the panel when you have all the clips loose, unplug the mirror connector. In the door right behind the mirror will be a foam pad, remove it then the 3 nuts. The mirror should come right off then. Good Luck

I believe you have to remove the door panel to access the retaining screws. If you google aztek door panel removal there are several links that pop up to aid you in removing the panel.

How to replace drivers side actuator on 03 land rover discovery

Unhook battery
Remove door card torx and Phillips needed
the window frame needs to come out to get clearance
remove the lock bolts in side of door (torx very tight) unplug the loom from the lock and unhook the rod from the inside pull handle
once done the actuator comes out leaving the lock barrel clipped to the door - replace in reverse expecting it to take a while and don't break the plastic clips holding in the actuator rods or they will fall out down the line...

How to replace rear view mirror

Instructions
1

Disconnect your negative battery cable, if your Ford Focus has power side mirrors. If it has manual side mirrors, disconnecting the battery is unnecessary.

2

Pry off the wing mirror's inside sail panel (shaped like a triangle). Insert a trim panel tool between the door skin and the plastic panel to pry it off.

3

Carefully pull the sail panel away, minding the wiring if the mirror is power-operated. Unplug the electrical harness and set the panel aside.

4

Open the door and hold the outside part of the wing mirror steady. Remove the mounting bolt with a socket wrench, and then remove the mirror screw with a Phillips screwdriver (the mirror bolt and screw is visible with the panel removed).

5

Pull the wing mirror assembly from its mount (from the outside). Insert the replacement mirror assembly in place; tighten the bolt and the screw.

6

Attach the wiring connection to the replacement mirror. Position the sail panel in place and push it against the door to snap it back on.

How do I get access into the inner side of the passenger door of a 1999 suburban 1500, in order to change out the side view mirror? If that is too difficult, can I just exchange the black plastic cowling...

You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Disconnect the wires / cables connecting the mirror to the controller and then you can remove the bolts holding the mirror onto the door and it'll just pop out...I've never tried to take apart the mirror itself because the clips holding the backing in the housing seem to break easily

Need to replace Mirror Assembly, 03 suburban

Your going to have to remove the inside door panel to get to the three bolts that hold the out side mirror assembly. Once you have the door panel off you'll see the three bolts that hold the mirror assembly, just un-bolt and un-clip the wire harness to the electric/heated mirror. To install the new mirror assembly, just do everything in reveres. Go to Auto Zone and by extra door panel clips, there is a good chance of breaking some of the retainer clips and Auto Zone will have the step by step instructions to replacing the mirror assembly and the removal to the door panel. Good luck and keep me posted. Be glad to help.

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you can access the bolts that secure the mirror onto the door
