Well first have you charged your battery back up, if so then try to by pass the ingintion switch by just connecting the two main post of the colenoid with a piece or wire, this creates a direct wire basically from your battery to your starter, if still no luck you will need a new starter located more to the drivers side close to right under the pedels on the bottom side of the truck.

SOURCE: my truck acts like it is starving for gas

Hi,
Replace the fuel filter as the fist action. Often this is charged for - but not done on a service, and if blocked will starve the engine. Just done mine after 3 years - would not believe the cr@p that was in it.

Try again.

If not much difference, check the fuel pump in the tank, and any cables to it.
If this fails, the engine needs to **** the fuel more - and can lead to starvation problems too.

Change the air filter every year, as this is cheap and will give you better MPG anyway.

My 2000 ford ranger will not start after putting in a new fuel pump

The shaking means that there is no FIRING and so it can be related to WATER in the fuel which you can check by siphoning out the fuel using a tubing specially from the bottom of the tank and it can be noticed on a glass bottle. If so drain the fuel and refill .Secondly the loss of firing must be checked , the ignition unit and the plugs must be checked . remove plugs and check for spark intensity. If low check the coils and the LT trigger. Once this is clear check the compression on all cylinders. finally check the fuel output and the fuel pressure setting/calibrations. This must solve the cold starting and poor performance of the vehicle.

1992 ford f150....would not start put the odb1 code reader on it gave me a 593 code saying defroster was on turned off defroster and truck started....began to flush/backflush radiator truck was running...

Your problem does not have anything to do with code 593, the computer reset therefore allowing the truck to start. unplug your EGR valve and see if it starts up then, if so and runs normal replace your egr valve, if no change check/replace your Idle Air Control Valve.

Check all your fuses and make sure your battery has a good connection. Your fuel system may be starting to go out. Your fuel filter may be clogged. It might be a coolant sensor or intake air temp sensor. I would try to get it tested for codes and see if anything picks up on the test. This would narrow your problem down, hopefully. MAP sensor can cause this as well. I hope this helps you. Best way it the test though. Then you will know where to start. Start with fuses though. That is a simple and cheap fix, if that is what it is.

What is aTBI module on F150

This is the ignition module ,most likely mounted on the side of the distributor. They can go bad and cause the truck to not fire. They can heat up and cause the truck to die.Or they can just go out and cause you not to be able to start the truck at all,or after it cools down,it will start up.
