Question about 1997 Dodge Ram 2500 Club Cab
5 speed manual tranny
Drove through some puddles after a rain storm, on the high way, water in fuel sensor light came on for a minute, then went off. DODGE says the sensor just got wet.
After shutting off the truck, and restarting it a few seconds later it started fine. Truck was shut off again for a few minutes, when I attempted to start it the *tic tic tic* sound of a (low battery?) was heard and the engine would not turn over. Took out the batteries, charged them, cleaned the posts attempted to start again, same sound. Now after it charges the glow plugs and it is ready to start, and of course, DOESN'T, there is a complete loss of electricity, no lights, no glow plugs NOTHING.
Opened batteries, found they were really low on water, replaced water, and letting it charge.
The starter has replaceable copper contacts that where in time. Can be bought as a kit.
