1998 Chevy Astro, Brake seizure, tight brake peddle problems

I have a 1998 Chevy Astro thats brakes seize up every now and then, particularly when it is raining/snowing.  So far it has only happened while almost coming to a halt.  I will put my foot down gradually on the brake pedal as I start to slow down the peddle tightens right up, and then I quickly pump the peddle harder and it releases. What could be the problem?

ABS engaging possible due to faulty speed sensor.
Pull 60A ABS fuse to disable to see if the problem goes away.

Check your rear axle seal under the brake drum for seepage .also alot of brake dust can cause this problem this will saturate the brake pads!

2007 chevy malibu, when brake peddle is engaged the brake lights go out but you remove you foot from the brake peddle the break lights come on and stay on untill you touch the brake peddle again, I am...

That sounds like a faulty brake light switch located down on the brake pedal lever under the dash, or a damaged wire at the wire connector to the brake light switch. Here are some images of what the brake light switch looks like to help assist you.

I have a 1995 chevy astro van and the breaks and steering have lost power. The fluid's are full, and I can not detect any broken lines. What could it be?

Your van don't have the regular air (vacum) power brake booster, your has a hydraboost brake booster, which is power by your power steering pump, if power steering pump goes bad you will not have power steering or brakes, brake peddle will feel very hard and will take alot of pressure on the brake peddle to stop your van, more the likely your power steering pump is bad.

Both front disc brakes are seizing and overheating

As a rule of thumb to any brake system operating properly the most important is cleanliness of it's hydraulic brake fluid. If your system has moisture in your brake fluid it will cause rust where metal or even rubber are present. Incorrect brake pads would also effect operation such as seizing. Applying a small amount of white grease to the bake pad sliders would help the movement of the pads freely along the sliding perch. A contaminated fluid will cause it to heat up faster and may cause seizure from rust settling at the pistons inside the caliper. If you never service a brake system I would strongly advice you let a certified technician look at your brake problem. Brakes are a safety feature which guessing is not part of a solution. This involves the safety of your lives. Use only premium replacement parts avoiding failure. Your lives are most valuable and when using inferior you also get inferior safety.

Brake lights don't stay on when I press on brake pedal. I have a 1998 chevy tahoe. Can someone help?

Stay on or go on when brake peddle is used?  If there is no brake lights check the fuse, and there is a brake light switch by the blrake peddle arm. Check the wire and check to see if the switch need to be re adjusted. Worst youmight have to replace the switch. Good Luck
