2006 Ford Escape - Right side flashers (turnsignals) not working

After hooking up a boat trailer's lights after it came out of the water, the right turn signal lights (both front and rear) stopped working on my 2006 Ford Escape (even after the trailer was then disconnected). The left side signals work fine, and when I turn the emergency flashers on, only the left side lights flash. Any suggestions as to what the problem is?

I discovered on another site, someone who had a flasher problem, simply disconnected the battery. After reconnecting the battery, all his flasher problems had disappeared. I tried the same thing, and it worked! My flashers are now working normally. What an easy fix!

Check the flasher itself. It sounds like your signal may have been on when your trailer was loading or unloading, and it grounded the flasher.

Check the wires at the connection point and follow them back up to the tail light look for any disconnected wires or grounds. Good luck.

How do you trouble shoot flasher in 97 Ford Aspire

the flasher should be located on the fuse panel, however if your turnsignal works without light on there is nothing wrong with it. sounds to me like you have a - of one circuit shorting out on the the+ of the other, probably int the light socket of one of the right side marker lights. start buy tring right turn signal with just marker lights on first.

Hi, I'm not clear about what you said. Please tell me the year and model of the truck and what color wires you have on the trailer. A normal 4-wire trailer has brown for tail, green for left and yellow for right. White is ground.

I have a 2001 Ford Explorer sport tac. I am hooking up a small fishing boat trailer to the truck ( the wiring on the trailer is new and installed correct). The problem: When I turn on the left or right...

You have one of two problems. Either there is a bad ground on your tailer, or the vehicle side trailer connection is bad. The Sport Trac is a 2 wire system and does not require a converter it would only need a 4-flat hardwired in. If you have a 3-2 converter installed good chance that is the problem seeing that the stop and turn wires on the input side would be wired to the same wire, which would explain the turn signals going off when the brake is depressed. If you have a converter installed simply ground the brake lead on the input side of the converter and your problem should be resolved.

I have a 2006 dodge ram 1500. My left turn signal and brake light on my trailer wiring quit working. Is there a fuse for this wire and where is it located

I don't believe that there are seperate fuses for the left and right turn sigs, The trailer lighting depends very heavily on the white grounding wire near the trailer ball hook-up. Check with a test light at the red and yellow wires while someone else flips the switch from left to right if you get power then check back at the left lamp assy. If you have no power there try grounding that assy. base with a big flathead screwdriver if it works then, you need to change out the left assy.Alsocheck and make sure your left turn lights are working on the main vehicle if not try a new flasher, I've seen this all the time where the flasher weakens and will not operate on one side but will on the other. One last thing, The brown wire is for the running lights only. Have someone stand at the rear of the trailer and, with the running lights on use the left and right turn sigs and step on the brake. If ANY of the other bulbs come on weakly at any time or cross back and forth by them selves you've got to rerun the main ground wire to the trailer. Good luck. Dana

Boat traler lights dim when break is applied

Your turnsignal flasher needs to be replaced with a heavy duty flasher.
also, your boat trailor wiring harness is grounded incorrectly or the harness pig tail is wired incorrectly.
this is why when you excite your tail lights and brake lights that your reverse lights come on and the reason that the lights are dimmimg is because your circuits are looking for the correct ground.
