Dash lights not working 2001 grandvitara

key on, or key off? Head lights on, head lights off, gee??????
what lights there are like 20 lamps in the dash?
my guess you mean the cluster? where speedometer resides?
warning lights dead or just the park lamps.
ill pretend the parks are dead.

it is a bad fuse.
Fuse 101:
fuses that look blown ,are. bam blown wide open.
fuses that look good can in fact be blown, (hair line cracks)
in a shop we use 2 ways.
(with no FSM or too lazy to look it up on
1: i check for 12vdc on both sides fuses with my voltmeter
in this case in PARK, switch turned to park.
2: if one side is dead, the fuse is bad.
3: or remove the fuses,(harder) and measure them with an ohmmeter
DMM meter set to ohms low,
0 ohms good
infinity bad.

if you had named just one lamp out. of the many we could say
what fuse. and where it is, but you didnt.

answer 2
really the same
i key on, the CEL lamp (and friends) all do a self test.
does it pass this self test that all cars do?
if not the fuse is blown or battery is dead, or just has corroded terminals.
the Operators guide tells all this lamp actions, under how to start a car.

Blown globe after spotlights conected

The way that you connected up the spot lights is incorrect and the combined current draw for the head light and the spot light exceeded the fuse capacity. The way to do it is to use the head light wire to trigger a relay for the spot lights that gets the power directly from a fused wire from the positive terminal of the battery. It works like this --you turn on the head lights ---power flows to the head lights and at the same time though the points coil in the relay to earth . this closes the points and allows power from the battery to light up the spot lights.

Head lamps on 2004 impala went out have parking lights no blown fuses

There are relays for the head lights, but see if the bright lights work also, the bulbs maybe blown, not uncommon for both to blow, then there is the headlight switch,if the brights do not work,it is most likely the headlight switch giving the problem.
