Very, very seldom does the oil get get in the coolant, it is almost always the other way around, coolant in the oil, I have 35 years of experience to back me up on this. The problem is almost certain to be leaky head gaskets, one or both, but they should be done together anyway.

In 2000 there was no Duramax engine. It was introduced in the 2001 modle year, with the new c/k platform. If you have an 6.5 turbo diesel then you are dealing with a whole differant beast. They are pron to head gasket faileures, and cyl. heads craking.
Good luck

You have blown your head gasket and will have to clean the hole inside of the motor by taking the sump off and flushing it and wiping out to get it back on the road.

What can cause this is when the truck is started first thing in the morning and driven only a short way what happens is the oil pan begins to sweat and when the truck is turned off the water goes into the oil whereas if it were driven further the water would evaporate as the pan gets hotter

Your question said "has oil in water" but at the end of you question you said "no oil in water" If it's the first you may be living in a colder climate and don't do long enough runs with the truck to get the whole system and oil really hot. My sugestion then is to run part or full synthetic in the colder season, this will help reduce it.
Hope this helps
Sam

Running rich burns black smoke.

Burning oil, burns blue smoke.

Burning white smoke is steam and can be indicative of a damaged head gasket, or just weather conditions. Fuel contains water at molecular level.

Why does my 2001 chevy duramax smoke when it idles

This happens when the vacuum in the manifold is at maximum and the air is drawn down past the valve stems into the combustion chamber. IT takes oil with it and so when you increase the RPM's ( moving off at lights)the burnt oil in the exhaust is expelled as a cloud of smoke . The fix here is to replace the valve stem seals that have gone hard/cracked and are no longer sealing on the valve stems

2002 chevy 3500 duramax 6.6 ran hot now cranks but won't start

Check spark plugs, leads, distributor cap & rotor arm, fuel pump, fuel filter, coil pack(s), relays, replace any items that are suspect IE Fuel filter which has probably not been changed since new even though they should be changed on all vehicles every 18 months, all of this can be done at home & will save you a lot of bucks in mechanic/garage fees,

2001 3500 chevy duramax all running lights, tail and dash lights not coming on..

The wiring diagrams on 2000 and newer models are not easy to read sometimes, but it shows a 30amp park lamp fuse and a park lamp relay. The relay is controlled by the PCM. There is also a 10amp Int - Park fuse. I think the small fuse is inside the passenger compartment and the large fuse is in the engine compartment box.
You may have to get a shop manual to get the diagrams to be able to check each circuit.

2000 DURAMAX WATER IN OIL, DOES NOT SMOKE,RUNS GREAT,NO SES LIGHT ON,PERFORMED PRESSURE TEST AND DID NOT LOSE PRESSURE

if u have coolant in the oil u have a leaky head gasket. no other source of this problem other than a cracked block, it is very hard to detect with a pressure test, we check by using a gas sensor in the radiator (from a smog machine), or if u are lucky u will see bubbles from the leak while it is running in the coolant tank.
