Question about 2000 Nissan Maxima

1 Answer

I have a 2000 nissan maxima and just the other day i went out to start the car and i had to get a jump start, so i thought the battery was going dead. Then the same thing happened the next day, however a jump start would not get it started. It started to but never fully cranked. I was told it was the battery so i went out and got a brand new battery, and that is still the problem, it does not want to crank over really. could this be the starter???

Check the wire terminals on the starter, they may be loose and not making proper contact

2000 Nissan maxima lights dim badly and randomly will not start with out a jump

Hi there
your problem sounds like your Alternator is playing up or your battery is shorting ,so the best thing to do is to take the car into the alto elect and they can test the alt and battery ,thats all it can be.

2000 nissan frontier xe. starter went out, replaced started. worked for a couple days and went out again, starter had factory defect, put new starter in and still wont turn over, just clicks a lot. all

When you get your Frontier started after jump starting it, does it stay running? If it does, you probably just have a bad battery. If you have a battery and brake icon come on, on your dash, you probably have a bad alternator. you could go to auto zone and they will be able to test your battery.

I thought the battery was dead because it would not turn over when the switch was turned on. I was at Wal-mart parking lot when this happened so I went inside to get new battery, but did not have tools to...

Hi.
Ensure that you have not left one of the battery positive cables, ensure that the battery connectors are well sticking to battery terminals. Go back to Wal Mart and get a car tester to check if the battery is properly wired.
Also test using your old battery.
If the car has power, and there are lights and devices coming on inside the car, then the problem is immobilizer.
regards.

My car was a bit sluggish to start then 1 day wouldn't start nothing there at all tried it tem min later and it started and has been fine til the other day went sluggish to start drove to a few places then...

check/clean battery terminals, if ok check starter wires for voltage(while turning key to start) and tightening or corrosion. If all check out ok replace the starter. If you have no voltage at the starter check your relays and ignition switch. Hopefully this helps

Heater/ac drains the battery when turned on

Sounds to me like an alternator/ generator issue. You can get it checked for free at a local auto parts store like Autozone or Advance respectively. Hope this helps!
