If it is a manual transmission. Make sure you press the clutch all the way to the floor. Toyota has this safety feature to prevent children from starting the car.

I have a 2007 Cadillac cts my key stuck my Windows stuck my flashers flashing and my car starts up so what's going on

Your key is stuck ? It won't move , it won't come out of the lock cylinder ? Can you shift it from park to drive , neutral etc... Are there any lights lit on the dash , yellow wrench light , service vehicle soon light ? any messages on Driver Information Center ? Your Cadillac has numerous electronic features controlled by modules - computers ! If your not familiar with electronics an these things I suggest you take it to someone who is . Does you Cadillac have console fool shifter ?
Electronic Park Lock (EPL)/Ignition Lock Cylinder Control Actuator: If the vehicle is equipped with automatic transmission and a floor mounted console gear shift, it has an ignition lock cylinder control actuator system in the steering column. The ignition lock cylinder control actuator purpose is to prevent the ignition key from being turned to the OFF position when the transmission is in any position other than PARK and the vehicle may still be moving. The column ignition lock system consists of an ignition lock cylinder control actuator, and a park position switch that is located in the automatic transmission shift lock control switch. The ignition lock cylinder control actuator contains a pin that is spring loaded to mechanically prevent the ignition key cylinder from being turned to the lock position when the vehicle transmission is not in the PARK position. If vehicle power is lost, and/or the transmission is not in the PARK position the operator will not be able to turn the ignition key to the lock position and will not be able to remove the ignition key from the column.
Linear Shift Assembly: If the vehicle is equipped with a column mounted gear shift, it has a linear shift assembly on the steering column. The linear shift assembly has a cable that runs from the linear shift assembly to the ignition lock cylinder case. The purpose of this cable is to prevent the ignition key from being turned to the OFF position when the transmission is in gear and the vehicle may still be moving. The linear shift assembly cable contains a pin that is spring loaded to mechanically prevent the ignition key cylinder from being turned to the lock position when the vehicle transmission is not in the PARK position. If vehicle power is lost, and/or the transmission is not in the PARK position the operator will not be able to turn the ignition key to the lock position and will not be able to remove the ignition key from the column.
The windows are no exception , they are controlled by modules in each door an are connected by a serial data communication bus !
The vehicle is equipped with power windows controlled by the door modules. Each passenger door window can be operated, either from a power window switch built into the driver door switch assembly (DDSA) , or, from a power window switch mounted locally on its associated door. The driver door window can be operated only from the driver door power window switch built into the DDSA.
When the driver door module (DDM) receives a driver door window switch request from the DDSA, the DDM examines the request and inspects to see if it has received any messages from any of the other vehicle modules prohibiting the movement. If no prohibitive messages have been received, the DDM then applies power and ground to the driver door window motor to move the window as requested.
When a passenger door module, passenger front door module (PDM), LH rear door module (LRDM), or RH rear door module (RRDM), receives a window switch request from, either the DDSA or the window switch mounted locally to its door, the passenger door module examines the request and inspects to see if it has received any messages from any of the other vehicle modules prohibiting the movement. If no prohibitive messages have been received, the passenger door module then applies power and ground to its associated window motor to move the window as requested.

What is reason my 2005 Cadillac deville will not start-will not crank

Given the amount of electronics on your vehicle , control modules (computers ) serial data communication networks etc.... Me or anyone else on would only be guessing as to what the problem is . Starting with the basics to find a cause is always the best ! Checking for diagnostic trouble codes should always be the first step !
Reading how the systems work is always a good idea too . Especially for someone who has no idea how this vehicle works .

When you turn the key in the ignition low voltage inputs are sent to the module incharge the PMM - power mode master ! In you vehicles case it's the (DIM) dash integration module !
Table 1: 4-Wire Ignition Switch Table
Power to many of this vehicle's circuits are controlled by the module that is designated the Power Mode Master (PMM). This vehicle's PMM is the Dash Integration Module (DIM). The PMM controls which power mode (Run, Accessory, Crank, Retained Accessory Power, or Off) is active. In this vehicle the Rear Integration Module (RIM) assist the DIM in controlling the RAP power mode.

On vehicles that have several control modules connected by serial data circuits, one module is the power mode master (PMM). On this vehicle the PMM is the dash integration module (DIM). The PMM receives 4 signals from the ignition switch.
To determine the correct power mode the PMM uses the following circuits:
• Accessory voltage
• Ignition 1 voltage
• Ignition 3 voltage
• Off/Run/Crank voltage

Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop .

NO power to vehicle inside or out.. battery is good, starter has been replaced, ignition control module replaced (not the actual ignition cylinder though) I have a 2000 Alero.. i had problems with the...

I have a 2000 as well and I noticed a lot of vehicles in 2000 came out with smartcar chips in them as well as the key. I would check into your car and see if maybe you have the wrong key or if maybe if you do have a smart key if it has some loose wiring in the computer system. That's all I can think of sorry.

Can you help me, anti-yhief cut power to engine and it won-t start back up

Do you have the year make and model.? If it is a anti theift with a key immobilizer the vehicle will just start and idle for a few seconds then shut off and the anti theft light will remain on or be blinking. Then we know you are dealing with the anti theft. do you have another key to crank the engine if you do use a spare key and hold the key next to the immobilizer and crank the engine see if that will give if it doesnt try this method. roll the window down with window down disconnect the negative battery cable wait 5 minutes reconnect put the key in the ignition but dont crank it just yet turn it in the on spot not the crank for 2 minutes then crank it and see if that start the vehicle . If this doesnt work then you will need to call a mobile locksmith who reprograms the immobilizer

Reseting the change oil light

Most GM vehicles around this year use a very simple method in resetting the "change oil" light.

Here are the steps to reset this light:

Turn the ignition to the on position (do not start the vehicle), immediately after turning ignition on, step down on the gas pedal fully 3 times (do this rather quickly) start the vehicle and the light should go off, if it doesnt work for you on the first try, just try it again until the light goes out.

Hope this helps...

Car wont start

If you are having power windows get that circuit for leakage to the body of the car, thus not letting the ignition circuit complete for the vehicle to have a chance of starting. This is entirely based on your hunch that something is wrong with the electrical's...................sodeep
