Question about 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD

I have a 2500 silverado with 4:10 gears. I get about 10mpg running emty or hauling. Would it be worth changing the gears. I will not be hauling anything but a 1600 lb pick-up camper anymore. Thanks.

Depends on what your thinking of changing them too if your going to drop down to 373's i dont think it would be worth it you would barley notice a change if your going to drop down to a 342 or lower you might see a minor change but that would definatly mess with towing i would leave it alone gas consumption has more to do with the motor then swapping out gears would look more into a hyper tech tuner or something like that to adjust the fuel curve

I have a 2001 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD. The tow/haul light turns on (yellow) and will not turn off. Is this a problem?

It is if, it is locking out your overdrive. Check to see if it shifts into all the gears your transmission has... ie. 5 speed = 4 shifts.

Tow haul on 2001 chevy silverado does not work

If the unit is getting the signal frim the pedal depression, it has to work. check that it's getting the signal when you depress the pedal. Check those connections, if all that is fine, the unit itself is faulty.

Dodge cummins tow haul stays on

Hi, I have a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500, 5.9 Cummins with 225,000 miles. Just today, my Haul/Tow keeps coming on and Trans/Temp light. Keeps automatically switching in and out on its own. It's been 100,000 miles since my last trans maintenance. Going to a mechanic close and he suggested to start with fluid change, filter change, and inspect the band, maybe adjust. Trans runs very smoothly. Checked the fluid, looks clean and not hot. Is this common with this year and mileage? If so, whats normally the out come? If the band is bad, do I have to replace the entire trans?

I have a 1995 chevy silverado 4x4 1500, what the hauling capacity. in need to haul 1600lbs 300 miles and wonder if my truck that runs like new can handle it

as long as it is not a bumper type ball you will be just fine. I recommend keeping it out of overdrive just so its easier on the truck.

Tow/haul does not work on 2000 chevy truck. whereis fuse?

I had a problem with my tow/haul button not working. I came to find out that the gear shift had cut the wire running to the button in two. You may want to check that.
