Question about 1992 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer

Gas Mileage/Tank on 1992 S-10 Blazer

The 1992 S-10 Blazer I am evaluating for purchase,, per the manual has either a 13 gallon or optional 20 gallon gas tank. I am told that to determine the size of the tank to look at the tag under the hood. The problem is that the original hood is not on my vehicle. How do I figure this out besides filling the tank when it is empty.

Also, it has the 4.3 engine and is getting about 11 MPG. I am told that it should average 15-16 MPG. Anyone got any ideas as to why this Blazer is getting this bad mileage,,besides it may need a tune up? Thanks.

Looking up your tank specs....but I can tell you that a new air filter, new fuel filter, clean spark plugs, proper air pressure in your tires and clean oil and filter ALL play a part in good gas mileage. Making sure the O2 sensors are working properly, sensors for Mass Air Flow and other things also help in the proper burning of your fuel.....driving habits are key also. Quick take-offs at lights, feathering your gas pedal instead of steady pressure wastes gas....a lot of factors.

The biggies are posted first though...you'd be amazed at how much improper tire pressure will kill gas mileage!

I have a 2001 isuzu rodeo and my gas needle is broke, how much would it usually cost to get fixed, how many highway miles per gallon and city miles per gallon please?

You would need to check with a local garage for repair prices.
To find your average mileage, fill up the tank, write down the mileage, then do it again at around 200 miles. Divide the mileage traveled by the number of gallons used. I would recommend filling up after you have used about 8 or 9 gallons to prevent running out of gas. You can't go by the federal mpg numbers because everybody drives differently.

How do I reset the distance to empty

The DTE is automatic and is the result of your previous miles per gallon multiplied by the gallons of gas registered in your tank.

Unlike the Trip miles, this DTE number can not be reset. It will vary by the fuel mileage per gallon recorded at each startup. That is why if you filled the tank and showed 400DTE you may have had 20 Gallons multiplied by 20 MPG. But if your new average is 16 MPG then it would show 320 DTE.

After getting gasoline, it increases wrong mileage with camry 2003

One tank of gas is not enough to compare mileage. Or are you saying the computer's readout of mpg estimate is showing less? Try a tank or two of premium and see if that helps. Keep track of gas mileage. Driving techniques have a lot to do with gas mileage, as does long trips vs. short trips, highway cruising vs. city driving. For best mileage, do regular maintenance and keep the car in top running condition-good spark plugs and clean filters and clean oil ! Attend to minor problems before they escalate.
If you want to check actual miles per gallon, start with a full tank. Write the odometer reading down, and go. Everytime you put gas in, write down the amount. When you are close to 1,000 miles from the time you started, go fill the tank and include that amount of gas to your previous list. Now add up all the gas used and divide it into the miles to get miles per gallon. (976 miles/31.8 gallons = 30.69 mpg ) . Only one tank will skew your numbers, might be off cause the tank was filled more to the top than the previous fill-up. About a thousand miles of driving will give you a very accurate figure of miles per gallon for your car.

Gas tank size , gas gage does not work , how many miles to the gallon the grand caravan get?

The gas tank capacity is 20 US gallons, but the tank will really only hold about 19.5 gallons. As far as mileage goes that really depends on your driving habits and the load it carries, just you? more? I would think that your average miles to the gallon would be in the range of 14-16 town and highway.
Here is the EPA ratings, which never match the real world gas mileage.

How many miles do u get for a full tank of gas on a v8

It just depends on your tank size. You probably get about 15 -18 miles per gallon. 13 gallon tank would be around 200 miles. 15 gallon tank around 232 miles.

Please tell me the fuel capacity and expected mileage

fuel tank is 20 gallons, this means you can get about 18.5 gallons in the tank in the real world, the fuel mileage is about 10-12 MPG in town and 14-16 MPG on the hiway, the assumes it is a 4 wheel drive, they are heavier.
