Question about 2004 Toyota Sienna

1 Answer

I am unable to unlock the driver door on my 2004 Toyota Sienna (base model). The door will open from the inside whether locked or not. I cannot open from the inside, nor use the keyless entry, electric unlock or manual unlock to dislodge the lock so that I can open it. It feels like if you pull the lock/door handle, you will break something.

2004 toyota sienna manual sliding door problem. When opened all doors will lock shortly after. On same door, interior light will not come on when sliding dooe opened

I have the same problem. I thought it was an electrical problem. My interior lights would go one and off and I would hear clicking noises. I took it to a mechanic and he said my switches for the sliding doors are bad so he had to order them from toyota and I'm getting them replaced tomorrow. Take it to a mechanic and get the switches replaced.

I have a 2004 Sienna with a drivers side sliding back door that will not lock or unlock with the key fob or when I press the lock/unlock switch on the drivers side door. The problem is with this that when...

So the sliding back door is stuck in the unlock position it sounds like? Also, the switch on the door...that locks/unlocks all doors? And is there an option to lock/unlock each individual door on that switch? Please let me know and I will see if I can determine how tedious it may be to self-repair or even just to troubleshoot. Also,do you have any electrical measuring equipment?Greg

Driver side door doesn't lock or unlock with the remote. The rest of the doors work fine.

Does the Driver side door lock and unlock from the lock switch inside? If not then you have a bad motor or bad connection to the lock/unlock motor inside the door.

Both manual sliding doors on my Toyota Sienna will not open

If you can remove the inner door panel you will see a maze of cables running to the various locking points on the sliding door. If the cable going to the FRONT latch on the sliding door is broken (or in my case, simply dislodged inside the door) the door acts as if it is frozen shut.

The front cable is short, and easily replaced even by a newbie mechanic.

Power door is not delatching

there is a door lock actuator that has failed, it releases the latches so the door can open. you need to remove the door panel. unbolt the window and tape it as to hold the window up then remove the window regulator assembley then unbolt the lock actuator from the back side.

Drive Door lock only works manually

That remote is not factory equipt., right? It seems like it is a classical unlock-a-door-and-the-electronics-will-do-the-rest kind of power lock. So maybe the motor is used only as a sensor.
Or did it function before??? If not and the dealership sold you the car this way, tell them that they've mounted an aftermarket remote lock and forgot to have it done properly and refuse to pay, as it's their fault.
If it functioned well before than maybe go to a car electrician or better a car security specialist dealing with alarms and electronic door-lock systems. You can have it done 250(including labor) anywhere! even at NASA

2004 toyota sienna sliding door locking trouble

Sounds like something isn't right.Try to disconnect the battery for a few minutes and see if that helps. Some times the ecu gets haywired and disconnecting the battery might reset it.And if it is the original battery you might want to get it tested.
