The problem lies between three options
1)only ignition switch
2)ignition switch and ignition module
3)the fuel pump and fuel filter needs replacement.
but this all has to be checked 1 by 1.as not all the three can be faulty.
but to get it confirmed which section is faulty.get the casr checked at diagnosis center to get the codes .as the codes will clear and confirm which part is faulty and needs replacement.instead or spending on so many parts with no success get the codes from diagnosis center.
many car garages have free diagnosis test at their repair center.
this will help.
thanks.

Did you flip the small yellow lever on the back, bottom side of fuel filter housing before you changed the filter? The fuel inside the housing must be drained as sediment and water could collect inside. It would be helpful to have the memory codes read they may give more info to this problem.

My son had the same problem with his F350 and it was water in the fuel. We changed out the filter and put diesel additive in the tank. That worked for him. The fact that the light go off when you play with the throttle is a good indication of the water moving around in the tank. Good luck.

86 ford f250 6.9 diesel takes long to start once

It could be several things. Did you replace your fuel filters recently? If not they could be plugging up with wax, it's that time of year.It could be air in the supply line from the tank and filters. It could be a malfunctioning fast idle solenoid or a fuel solenoid. The best thing to do would be to pick up a copy of Haynes Diesel Engine Repair Manual, part #10330. It has an excellent service section on the 6.9 and 7.3 diesels, including diagrams and diagnostics.

Hi

Im not 100% here but will give you something to look into. Does the car have a EGR valve?

Secondly check the air mass sensor this could cause multiple codes and make the car splutter.

Is it a diesel? or petrol? if diesel it may have air in the fuel system or a faulty pump. when you done the head did you change the fuel filter, and bleed the system though? only if diesel!, and check the injectors are not leaking, poor water on to each and see if any air bubbles come up. again only if diesel.

Please get back to me if your unsure of anything
Regards
Dan

We think it is the diesel injection pump but not sure

Sounds like not all the glow plugs are working. It should run fairly smooth on a cold start if all of the glow plugs are working..Also you shouldn't drive off on a cold start with a diesel,Its really hard on the motors..At least give them 10 to 15 min on a cold start..The oil in them is a really thick oil and when there drove on a cold start theres no oil lubricating the internal parts and will cause the motor to seize up..You may already no this and dont mean you drive it as soon as you start it i just wanted to let you know..When you get alot of white smoke it could be two things,Theres water in the fuel which will make it not have much power die and smoke..But if it runs fine when its warm theres some bad glow plugs...Hope this helps you and have a great day

Water in fuel system of a Ford F250 diesel engine.

there is an additive at most auto parts stores and even some gas stations, i forget the name but if you read the bottle it will say something about removing water from the fuel system, they are generally located next to the "octane booster" or "fuel system cleaners"

Fuel problem, wont start

the pump is part of the filter/separator not in the tank no fuel will come out if filter is removed make sure there is fuel in the upper filter if there is the pump is ok it might be an oil pressure concern

F250 7.3 liter loss of power during driving

Sounds to me like a fuel filter/water seperator issue, not enough fuel pressure at higher speeds due to the restriction of fuel but runs when engine is slowed down or idling. Also there is a recall of the 07S57cam position(CMP) sensor that Ford will replace for free! I hope this helps...
