Why won't my trunk or fuel door open on my 95 mercury cougar

Open the glove box; you'll see two buttons to the left, the lower one is for the gas tank. Get an owner's manual asap as it helps to have this. Best of luck. (here's my ride)

My Honda Accord latch is broken. I can not open the gas tank door and the trunk won't close. It has to be a problem in the latch because it controls both gas tank door and trunk door

emergency release should be in the trunk as for the closing of the trunk, you need to disconnect the cable at the trunk latch until you can get it fixed

There should be manual release cable inside the trunk behind the trim panel near the gas door location.

How do you unlock the gas tank when unlocking the car doors do not unlock the gas tank?

Cruised the net looking for an answer for you . was hoping to find the location of a push button release inside the car but could not. Apparently , on some models there is a release latch inside the trunk , behind where the fuel door is. Seems like some models latch works on a vacuum line that , if cracked or leaking , will not actuate latch. Other models are electric , and found 1 claim that disconnecting the negative battery wire for a few minutes than reconnecting has solved this problem. I am concerned about other problems that could cause though.

Can,t open gas tank latch

The cable hooks up to the latch under your left foot and goes back to the latch on the gas fill door. I believe you can take the trim loose from the trunk to see what the cable is doing. May have snapped or something on the latch near the fuel door broke. You should be able to manually open the door.

Chevrolet HHR 2009 when doors locked the fuel tank cap does not.

Take it to your dealer, and demand they fix it.
Seriously, 2009 you should be WELL within your warranty period, unless you commute from Washington DC to Dallas Texas.

One POSSIBLE issue is, aftermarket locking gas caps are sometimes too tall for the door, and prevent it's complete closure. Second issue may be a bad connector on your gas-door locking solenoid.
Finally(and i don't knwo for sure, since mine is NOT a 2009) when you finish filling your tank, did you press the door back into the latched position? If not, then the lock solenoid will actually PREVENT the latching and proper closure from taking place.

Check the gas door for signs of damage in the sheet metal near where the lock engages. to rule this out. With the door latched shut, lock the doors, and set the alarm. Now check with a credit card, or other thin plastic piece, to see if the locking solenoid is "out". If not, that is definitely your issue, and needs to be replaced.

AUdi A6 gas tank button

There is no button to open the gas door from the inside of the car.  As long as the doors are unlocked, you should be able to push in the far right side of the gas door and the left side will pop open. I too spent hours looking for this non existent button..I went as far as to going back to the car dealership.
