Alarm will not shut off

The alarm came on for no reason and will not shut off, after 10-15 minutes the battery is just about dead. I disconnected the battery and noticed that there is a relay chattering prior to battery disconnect.

Thanks, I'll check. I did disconnect the DCC short connector in the fuse box and restarted the car without it then replaced the DCC while it was running. When I turned the ignition off the problem was gone. Weird!

SOURCE: lexus alarm

My GS 300 arlarm kept going off now for two months unless the battery is disconnected; the solution to my problem was that my key had an electrical fault. I confirmed it by placing the faulty key within a metal box or a steal pot with a heavy lid. upon doing so it stopped going off. I later purchased a new key

SOURCE: lexus alarm keeps going off unless you disconnect battery model g300 1996

I would say you have two options, You can take it to the dealer and have it disconnected, or you can go to an aftermarket car stereo/alarm store they will install an aftermarket alarm and disable your stock one at the same time, for probably about as much as the dealer would charge to just disable it. First just call the dealer to get a quote on how much that would cost, and then call the alarm place and get a quote.
Thanks,
Lee

2001 dodge caravan alarm will not shut off

You probably need to disarm the system, try locking and unlocking the drivers door with the key if you don't have the remote.

I have a 1996 jeep grand Cherokee the battery went dead tried to jump start it but the alarm just goes off every time i turn over the key so i tried using the key in the door to turn the alarm off but it...

Try closing the doors then hook up jumper cables, let it sit for a couple of minutes with cables hooked up and other vehicle running. Then try to use key to turn off alarm before opening door. Then try to start it.

Battery keeps going dead

Do you arm the alarm with your key pod? If so, simply don't arm it. Whatever you do to arm it stop doing. That way at least you can check to see if that is the problem.

If for some reason it automatically arms when you shut your doors, then remove one wire from your alarm. Tape the end of it so it won't hit something and cause a short.

I don't personally believe that is it. Check the battery terminal connectors and make sure there is no corrosion built up on them. Also, make certain they are tight on the battery posts.

Let us know if that does it.

How can I reset my Factory Alarm on my Jeep it wont run

Alarm Module Reset Procedure
NOTE: This information applies to a Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS) that was armed when the battery was disconnected and reconnected.
When the armed VTSS senses that the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, it enters its power-up mode. In the power-up mode the alarm system remains armed following a battery failure or disconnect. If the VTSS was armed prior to a battery disconnect or failure, the system will have to be actively or passively disarmed following a battery reconnection.
The power-up mode will also apply if the battery goes dead while the system is armed and battery jump-starting is attempted. The engine no-run feature will prevent the engine from starting until the alarm system has been actively or passively disarmed.
Passive disarming of the Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS) occurs when the vehicle is unlocked using the key to unlock either front door or the lift gate. Active disarming of the VTSS occurs when the vehicle is unlocked by depressing the Unlock button of the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter.
Once the alarm has been activated (horn sounding, lights flashing, and the engine no-run feature), either disarming method will deactivate the alarm.
Depressing the Panic button (if equipped) on the RKE transmitter will also disarm the VTSS, but the horn will sound and the lights will flash for about three minutes as part of the Panic feature. The horn and lights can be stopped by pressing any of the RKE transmitter's buttons or driving the vehicle above 15 mph.

Alarm wont shut off after replacing battery

How long did it take you to replace the battery? If you did a quick switch, try disconnecting it again and leave for 10-15 minutes. Maybe it will reset? Did you replace the battery before it went completely bad? Is this a stock alarm?
