First of all, the 2003 Santa Fe came equiped with three different engines... FIRST. the 4 cylinder (2.4 I4), SECOND: the 2.7 V6, and THIRD: the 3.5 V6. Which one is in your vehicle? The 2.4 and the 3.5 have the CKP at the front of the engine at the crank shaft. The 2.7 has the CKP in the engine block near the Transmission. Additionally, you didn't mention diaoncis code (I presume you mean 'diagnostic' code). For example: P0335 Crankshaft Position Sensor -No Signal

Is this the DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) you saw?.. did you read "P0335"?

Tell you what... if you really need to fix this problem, take it (tow it) to the nearest Hyundai Service Center and pay their diagnostic fee. They will diagnose the problem and give you an estimate of repairs (parts, labor, tax, time-frame, etc.). This way you'll know exactly what's wrong and what's required to fix it (then you can share that information with us - maybe we can help you repair it yourself.

Crank sensor wont have any effect on starting, Cam position sensor would. Also check all your fuses.

Van runs good then stalls out. then hard to start. If i let it sit for 5 minutes it starts again no problem. Then stalls again shortly there after.

This sounds like a failing camshaft position sensor and weak crank shaft sensor .When crank shaft sensor gets weak it will stop functioning. When crank shaft sensor stops working then ECM will not control fuel system and the fuel will stop flowing. And this can cause the problem. When crank shaft sensor gets heated it will stop working, but when the car shuts off, the sensor gets cold and works for few minutes and sensor again gets hot and it stalls. ---------- Get the crank shaft sensor tested on your Chevrolet venture. ---------- There are many other possibilities for this stalling problem, but crank shaft problem is indicating in your case. Ok so working on a 2000 chrysler voyager and it wont start. I replaced the camshaft and crank shaft sensors, she turns over and tries to start but wont cust thinks its another sensor but it acts like the...

Get back to basics, run a compression check on the cylinder bores, these should be 150psi ish.

Check timing marks are in line.

Check for spark

Check you have fuel

It will be one of the above. A correctly timed engine with spark and fuel will start and should run.

Maybe try spraying easy-start into air intake? This rules out timing a spark to a degree if it fires up

So much to go at, hope this helps

2002 malibu wont start

check for a bad crank sensor for this controls the timing of crank shaft. and sends info to pcm. it will cause no spark or pulse at injectors.the engine may start but cut out in a few minutes or seconds, of operation. have the car scanned for the problem code, if no scanner, any auto parts store will scan for free. good luck !!

Wont stay running

This sounds like it is your ignition module not sending message o your computer letting know that the key is in the ignition and the car has been started. Replace the ignition module
