Question about 2001 Hyundai Sonata

Starts for only a few seconds

I am looking at buying a cheap car off of craigslist, but it has one large problem. "Starts and runs for a few seconds then stops"

"Replaced tranny, front wheel bearings, rotors, mass air flow sensor, throttle position sensor, starter."

This is all the information that i can give... any help?

I don't know if this is the problem, but it is possible that it has an anti-theft mechanism and if you don't use the key with the chip, it will act like this.

    Just a guess

You might check for a blown fuse labeled " pass key"

Not sure if this will help! I had a pontiac with same problem a few years back and replced a bunch of things in it included the computer. it ended up that the coil was bad.  you have not mention if a tune up was done? I would suggest taking the coil to your local Autozone Store and have it tested.

93 toyota pickup 4x4 it will stay running after I turn it on to start it up, it starts up then after a few seconds it kills

if I'm reading this right...
... the engine starts and dies within a few seconds.
... you jumpered the fuel pump test connector and it will keep running.
... you smell fuel after trying to re-start when it dies.

Disconnect the plug to the cold start injector. Even if you have an issue with the engine running then dying after a few seconds after doing this, if you don't smell fuel after disconnecting the cold start injector and try to restart it, the cold start time injector time switch may be failing.

Buy a can of starting fluid and have someone start the engine then spray short bursts of the fluid around all the intake fittings. If spraying the fluid in any particular area keeps the engine running, I'd start looking for leaks around that area.

It does sound like an AFM or COR issue considering it dies after a few seconds, but the fuel smell when trying to restart the engine may be a separate issue that needs corrected / isolated first.it will keep running.

Require a new center console for a grey 2005 allure.

You would be much better off to buy a used one, a new one will be expensive. Look on craigslist, ebay, and call around to local junkyards. Someone has a wrecked one and is selling parts from it. Large junkyards have nationwide parts locator.

Broken glove box latch

You are going to need another unbroken mechanical latch part there. Myself I would call local junkyards to see if they have any early 2000 vitaras, and I would look on my local craigslist to see if anyone is selling vitara parts. You buy a used one for a few bucks and put it on yourself. May have to buy the whole glovebox door, but used will still be cheap.

My 1993 blazer was running fine today, all of a sudden it quit running, it appears that the fuel is getting shut off, I sprayed some ether in the intake, it starts right up , some times it stays running...

this sounds like a bad fuel tank fuse or that the over heating saftey switch is bad it is best to find a plce that will look it over and then tell you what it is and then if you canfix it on your own or buy the parts and then they fix it keep safe

Where to buy cheap rebuilt tranny and engine

Easiest is to call one of the engine/tranny shops in your area. The other would be to look up on craigslist in your area and look for some one that is parting out your model....you have a popular year/make and shouldn't have too much of a problem finding one. Look for a car that got t-boned or rearend damage...stay away from the "the motor is still good" ad.....if the front end was damaged.
