Question about 2004 Lexus RX 330
THE POWER FROM THE POWER STEERING COLOMN ACTIVATES MY ( AFTER MARKET) ALARM SYSTEM WHEN I USE THE AUTO START FEATURE. WHEN I USE AUTO START THE STEERING WHEEL ADJUST TO MY PROGRAMED POSITION AND THAT SENDS CURRENT TO THE ALARM WHICH FOOLS THE ALARM INTO THINKING THE CAR WAS TAMPERD WITH AND IT SOUNDS. NOW WHAT I WANT IS THE STEERING WHEEL TO STAY IN ONE POSITION WHEATHER THE SUV IS OFF OR ON.
The simplest way is to set the wheel where you want it and unplug the motor.
This may cause a Check Engine Light condition - however.
The aftermarket alarm brain can be adjusted for sensitivity as well - or re-located so it does not sense the vibrations of the steering wheel moving.
The current draw is so minimal that its not sensing the voltage drop (car is running anyway) - it doesnt like the vibration of the motor on the steering column.
Thanks for using FixYa!!
