Well if you want to save some cash go to a salvage yard and find the part you need for next to nothing. buy a manual for your vehicle for around 20 bucks and o'reilly's or napa and you got the tools and you can do this yourself and save some cash. the chilton will have diagrams to help you and will also have other info so you can do future repairs yourself and it has all the specs too

How to recharge ac on 97 Lincoln towncar

Just visit a local garage and they will recaharge it for you. Gor safety reasons this is a job that should only be carried out by a competent mechanic as messing around with the refrigerant is dangerous... it can blind you
It should bot be very costly for a recharge

The automatic climate control needs servicing, resetting, or some fix. You might want to connect with emissionwiz, an excellent ford expert, here at Fixya for his help. Many others, too.
As an old shadetree backyarder I've never had to worry about a problem like yours-lol.

The AC on my town car 1996 is not working, it does not blow cold air. The mechanic said it needs a part(not sure the name) that they don't make it anymore and he can't find a used one.Is that...

I can't think of any A/C parts for a 1996 towncar that are obsolete. Can you find out what the name of it is or post a pic of it so I can tell you what it is?

I bought my lincoln from a friend she could not afford to have the ac repaired so she had a mechanic fix it so the ac would work now there is no heat what do i do

This sounds like a problem with the blend door. This is the mechanism that mixes hot and cold air. If the door is stuck it will only allow cold air to pass This is a common problem in Lincoln's.

AC blows hot air 1997 Lincoln Town Car. On board system reads code 30.

I do not have a code book ! Try this : Check black canister for cold feel (passenger side under hood)l. If cold, check all vacuum lines...vacuum motors move doors to divert fresh air thru hot or cold coils in plenum chamber (under dash).
A manual shouild help !

Has no heat engine temp good heater hoses hot

U have a failed air temperature control electric blend door actuator, to replace this part requires the dash be removed from the car, the part is located on the outside of the heating duct about center of dash.

The heater is not working

Start by checking the coolant level and then the heater control valves. Once you get beyond that point, you are talking about possible problems with the control panel and the temperature sensor. If you can't find it in the first part get ready to head to a good mechanic, since it starts to get very complicated beyond that point.
