You have to remove the center dashboard bezzel out. Is held in place by pressure stubs only. After that, you remove the A/C control head. Look for a disconnected wire first. The tiny bulbs are located in the control's back. Feel free to email me for a diagram

Air conditioning does not work in extreme hot conditions. Travelled 6 hours last week and the air worked for 2 hours. Had been back to dealer 9 times, but they say its OK.

check that he cabin recirculating vent is in the off position as if it is not all your are doing is introducing hot air in and the ac will not be able to keep up. Next to check the ac temperature place a small thermometer in a dash vent . The ac if it is working ok will get the air down to around 15 degrees f. Remember that as the body adjusts to the drier air in the car it feels as if the ac is not cooling enough.. Try a different ac mechanic as the dealer may be trying to put you off. You may need a fan in front of the condenser to assist with cooling as the ac will cut off if the 2 pressure switches read a pressure 2 high or too low in the system

Is there a sensor in the lower section of the console for the A/C by the return air?

First you must figure out what caused it to burn out, if you don't the car could burn to the ground.

No air conditioning, flashing climate light

You should make sure you have proper charge for sure.has your battery gone dead lately? I know on some of them digital climate controls will act exactly like this and have to be reset or go through a setup sequence.

The air conditioning only blows hot air, and you can hear the air leak every second, or so.

The Air-conditioning needs to be re-gassed. Take the car to an Auto Mechanic to get the Air-Conditioning re-gassed. They might also need to check it for leaks to make sure the gas stays in.

I have a 1998 oldsmobile 88

You have lost engine vacuum to the AC vacuum motors, this is either a pinched vacuum line from the engine vacuum storage canister or the canister is damaged or the control switch in the dash is leaking vacuum.

Air conditioning blows throught the defrost, at will. Very aggravating.

The differnet air ducts are controled by vacuum, you are getting a loss of vacuum some where, it may be the vacuum switch at the AC controls, or a pinched vacuum supply line in the dash, or a defective check valve at the engine side, the vacuum hose is very small and you will see it near the blower motor houseing in the engine compartment, follow it and make sure it is not damaged or pinched, ther is no easy fix if you are familiar with how the hoes are routed. On the inside of the car they go throught the firewall on the passenger side, they are different colors, I believe the supply hose for vacuum is black. If you need more help call me at 925-459-0571
